Ken - are you OK? I think you live in the Carolinas and it's a mess there right now. Realized we haven't seen a joke or a comment from you in a couple weeks so got worried.

My son and his wife were in the knoxville area visiting family and headed for Asheville for another family get together...and got into a driving mess. They were on Hwy 40 when it was cleared after the road collapsed - then tried to get into Asheville and couldn't...then got routed out of two smaller towns due to a dam breaking. They made it home safely but it was a harsh trip.

Some of the photos look like the coast after Katrina - who would think a hurricane would do so much damage that far inland.... Now I'm wondering how many WF members were caught up in that mess.

Yes Ken, please let us know you are ok. I was beginning to miss your jokes although many were old and some terrible, they are a staple of my life and I need to keep suffering from them.

Please signal your continuing participation in the land of the living and wellness ASAP. Or else. Lol

    Thank You for caring.

I saw where the weather people predicted widespread flooding, but I never
    expected this amount of devastation.

I think it's much worse than Katrina and the loss of life will be massive because
    of the mud and landslides.

If our members are in it, they probably don't have internet or cell phone signals.

My ducks are absolutely not in a row. I don't even know where some of them are...
...and I'm pretty sure one of them is a pigeon.

I just sent a donation to Paws of War - they are a group that helps US military members bring back dogs and cats they have adopted in conflicts and areas where the animals have little chance of survival.

They are on the ground in the Carolinas and other states affected by helene - rescuing people and pets, providing food/water/generators. Helping local shelters save animals affected by the hurricane.

I'm sure some here are donating items to be sent to the affected areas...if so, please consider tossing in a bag of pet food with your donations. That is as scarce as people food after a storm like this. I've found if you go to a pet store and tell them WHY you are getting pet food...they'll often give you a good deal on close dated or 'taped' bags of kibble. Just a thought.
