Your Favorite Candy Of All Time?

Continuing my wacky research into the psyche of the OT preferences I present a question that used to be close to my heart. Sadly, It now could be contributing to its demise if I pursued it anymore. I am now diabetic so the only candy I eat is sugar free and stevia enriched, like Aitkens Bars.

I have three favorite candies (or sweets as we called them in the UK)

Liquorice Allsorts and Wine Gums come top. Eating them mixed together was a pure joy. A more British favorite.

A more obscure one it called Teacakes. A chewable lump of toffee encrusted with toasted coconut and sugar. Again, a British treat, but, you can get them all from Amazon.

So, time to bear your soul. What's your candy of choice?

Home made caramels - wrapped in little pieces of waxed paper twisted at each end. My aunt used to make them for me.

Clark bar was my fave candy bar as a child. No longer available it seems.

As an adult I like toffee - heath bars and similar chocolate covered toffee. Also love York peppermint patties and Peanut M&Ms. Milky Way bars are in there somewhere, too.

Shane - Please reconsider. Abstaining from desserts is too stressful...and stress is bad for you.

    I LOOOVE Candy!!!

It's impossible to choose a favorite one but I will start
with Gummi Bears. Growing up in Germany, my aunt
would take me and my cousin to the candy store and
we would each get a pound of Gummies, and we had
a contest to see who could eat theirs up first.

I love Milk Chocolate. I just had some Terry's Orange
Chocolate Balls delivered yesterday with my grocery
order. That is one of my favorite holiday candies and
I also love the Ferrero Rocher Hazelnut Chocolates.

My other favorites are Snickers, Milky Way, Milk Duds,
Almond Joy, Butterfinger, Whoppers, Twix, Chunky Bar
and everything that goes in them like caramel, coconut,
    raisins, and CHOCOLATE.

I love Jolly Ranchers, Peppermints, Strawberry Bonbons,
Skittles, Star Burst, Lemon Drops, Butterscotch and all
the different random candies you could think of.

The only candies I do not like are Marzipan and Dark
    Chocolate.

As soon as I finish this post, I will think of some other
    candies I should have mentioned.

As to your health, I think it's okay if you have a licorice
jellybean every once in a while but you should ask your
    doctor.

    Happy Holidays Everybody!!!

I forgot Butterfinger - though it's more a food group for me than a candy.

  • I love Chunkys. A Baby Ruth bar is good too.

But...every year I buy about 50 of those hollow chocolate bunnies. I think they are called Baby Binks. I try to make that last a year...and never make it.

  • I miss American candy. I like pretty much all of the above but my current best is Hot Tamales.

In Asia, they have different recipes for some US based candy to make it less sweet. So, Snickers or whatever, seems to taste different.

Then there's the local favorites that sound gross, so I've never tried. Like garlic flavored coca cola celery candy. Not that extreme, but close.

One of my favorite candies I only ate once here is a salty lemon hard candy. Man, it's good.

I don't have an all-time favorite, I have been eating M&M's Peanuts or a Hersey Bar recently, including today. Other favorites, are Reses Cups, Kit Cats, Almond Joy, Twixs, and Nestle Crunch ( currently boycotting). When I was in High School mini Jaw Breakers were consumed during the day. My grandmother when I was small, used to have some type of hard candy that was clear look like a clear piece of ice. I think it was called rock candy which was back in the late '60s.

I would consume Lindt milk chocolate truffles daily, but I can not stop at just one ;>)
