This is how I feel lately in WF:

I see a lack of good thematic discussions, where different people share different experiences and different methods, different results.

What I see is just too many "experts" fighting their ideas with arrogance and usually with a big lack of experience. But they read it "somewhere" so it must be true.

Maybe it's just me but I see a new crowd here showing off, pushing the limits of whats reasonable and trolling when someone has a different opinion based on TESTING and EXPERIENCES.

A post in some threads is like a ticket to a fight.

Is it just me?

    Hey Fernando,

    I think it's a combination of a lot of things. To be perfectly vague. lol. I'm
    sure there are elements that you mentioned. But it's ok. I believe it's all
    normal in this kind of social situation with large numbers of people. Someone
    commented on the perceived absence of the 'older' mainstays in here. The
    people who have been here a long time.

    I do know of some other watering holes where people from here gather. People
    get tired of a place, maybe, and want a change. So that leaves a bit of a
    vacuum that will be filled by others. So maybe that could be contributing to
    your observations.

    But even if they do say things that are not based on much, thinly supported,
    in time it all comes out in the wash.

    I wouldn't mind thematic discussions, but I rarely get involved with them here,
    anymore, due to personal reasons. But it's not important. Unfettered discourse
    is difficult to find in certain situations, but that's nothing new either. And yes,
    I'm aware of the reasons for the scarcity of that kind of exchange - no need
    for anyone to really go there, unless you feel the need to.

    Paul Meyers has mentioned a couple of times that the WF goes through cycles. A given behavior will dominate for a while and then another behavior will take over. There have been periods of intense negativity, periods of contentiousness and periods like now with people declaring self proclaimed "truths" as gospel.

    We're overdue for some good times. We just have to wait. Until then, there are good things to be found amongst the dross.

    Perhaps it has something to do with the approach of summer vacation.

    I mean, maybe it's my imagination, but as June approaches... more and more kids (high school and college alike) start thinking they're going to spend their summer earning money online instead of getting a "real" job, and they just flood the place.

    Some portion of it, I think, is people who want to finance college or a trip abroad. But it seems like a larger percentage is people who have just found out what their grades are going to be, and realised they probably don't get to be an astronaut when they grow up.

    Its just a sign of the times. Everyone has all of this feel good / its all about me stuff crammed in their head all the time and it starts to get their head swelling. Unfortunatly honesty and truth is fading away in today's world its sad but true.
