Lets face it things haven't been all that great in the world lately.
Oil leaks, wars, terrorist attacks, bad economies, politicians, you know the picture.
We also know that there are people here in the Warrior Forum who are lucky just to be here still breathing. I know I've cheated death more times then I can count and there are a couple of other Warriors here who I know can say the same thing.
My point in all this is we sometimes forget there is a joy of life in all of us.
I've always said that I am responsible for me. No matter what the situation or lack of situation I am responsible for my thoughts, my actions, and my feelings.
This year I was given the opportunity to become independent and I took it.
The result(s) have been awesome. I've become more spiritual (not religious) and have a calmness about me that is sometimes kinda scarey
The reason I'm telling you all this is simple.
I figured it was a good lead in to a song that puts all that into notes that say it all better then me.
After all you can't have joy without a sense of humor

Wow Thom - how inspirational. New strain? LOL.

You're definitely right though - some are so busy seeking the ultimate pleasures that they completely miss all of the little ones along the way. Making enough money to buy everything you want or to go anywhere you want is a great thing..........but why do we put our lives on hold waiting for the big thing when there are little things every day that can be completely enjoyable?
I picked a basket of wild black raspberries the other day and made a pie that was incredible with them. I picked the berries while I was taking the dog for his daily stroll, this time at a string of lakes where we could play in the sun and forget everything but having fun together. Now THAT'S life. Next week we'll be out prospecting and looking for crystals and such. Those few days won't make or break my career, but they will be a celebration nonetheless.

We don't have to ignore world problems or work to have joy. I probably pay more attention than most to the craziness going on in this world, and the problems we do and will need to fight to keep the globe intact and populated by humans. Each day, however, no matter how much work I have on my plate, I take time for what to me are the finer aspects of life. To me the journey is the fun part of the trip. The destination is just an end at which I devise a new journey to enjoy. Never take a plane when I can go by car. There's just too much to see and do along the way.

The song is a terrific one, Thom. I'm glad I got to listen to it before this thread got so swamped down with youtubes that this old machine won't load it any more.

Not fixed yet and it would be a royal pain in the ass if I let it.
It looks like I have a piece of porcelain in the pipe.
I can see it from the end where I disconnected everything, only problem is if I push it from that direction it will get stuck in the main pipe going out to the septic tank. Then I would have to drain the tank, dig up that line and disconnect it all to get at it.
So I'm trying to go in from the pipe's vent and using water pressure push it out the other end. I'm making progress, but it's slow.
Also consider this pipe hasn't had a proper cleaning out in 50 years so it ain't pretty.

Sal, I haven't sold on eBay in a while.

Steve (again) knowing you shouldn't be alive should give you the insight to appreciate the little things more, I know it works for me
Sorry if the song wasn't what you expected, but again it works for me

Okay - Steve (in Glens Falls) does so I'll get the info I need from him.

Going to go pick more berries tomorrow and that darned Youtube is going to be going through my head the whole time if I don't get some batteries for my walkman, LMAO -- can you see me skipping down the lane, swinging my little berry basket to that tune, with my little dog scampering beside me? hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Oh crap - this is CA, they might catch me and drug me if I get caught looking like Dorothy on the path to OZ.

Thanks pal. Go suck some sewer gas and contemplate that one for awhile.

Huh. I toss my cookies and pass out and you have joyous revelations?
Guess I should have settled for sitting in the basement breathing deeply for awhile.

Next thread -- some stuff just isn't fair.

I liked that video very much.

Listen to these guys they will bring a smile a face (or maybe a tear to your eye). A very moving song it is:

If you watch them live, you'll see Marcus Mumford(the one with the moustache) playing the acoustic guitar, drums(with his foot), tambourine and singing all at the same time!

YEP! HECK, I told a doctor at a hospital that I had a dissected Aorta, and he told his nurses something to the effect that they probably wouldn't encounter anyone else that could say that. Of course, that is just the most public thing that happened.

Nice! I like this kind of music. Still, with the leadup you had to it, I was hoping for more.

Thanks for the effort though. 8-)
