Hate to say it (and don't want to see it), but I fear James Toney will knock out Randy Couture within 30 seconds of round 1.

    That wouldn't be shocking even to hardcore-MMA fans, thunderbird. Basically the 2 scenarios are that either the boxer lands a punch and wins or the wrestler scores the takedown and dominates. That's usually how the boxer vs wrestler discussions play out. The favourite has to be Couture for obvious reasons but at least 50% or more of fights inside the cage usually end through knockouts. So Toney has a chance. Especially seeing that Couture is old by MMA standards and is more prone to getting stopped.
    Although after seeing the weigh ins yesterday, Toney was quite heavy. I'm still not sure if he's doing this for the money or because he really wants to start a new career. I thought he'd have come into the fight in much better physical condition.:confused:

      I'm not sure how it's possible that a pro athlete like Toney can train for 4 or so months and still come into a fight in that kind of shape. Boggles the mind.
      Not sure how much of his "training" was legit. Apparantly was filmed for the purpose of the promotional shows leading up to help hype the fight. Didn't see any results of any training. The guy was just disgustingly out of shape.
      What's funny is he got paid a million dollars for that while Couture gets less than half. LOL!

    Toney thought he could catch him coming in - like Ray Mercer did to Tim Sylvia.

    Randy may be 47 but he's still a top 5 contender in LHW or HW. The guy just doesn't seem to age like most folks.
