I don't know if anyone here was watching CNN on the election day but they beamed people into their studio via Hologram.

I was blown away. This is crazy. I read one blogger's post saying that he was just starting to get used to Skype video and now this, holograms.

What do you guys think?

Next thing we'll have is flying Delorians (I hope I speleed this right).

Peter

        LOL

You made me laugh out loud, literally.

I have to say i think Jessica Alba is the sexiest woman alive though, certainly the sexiest i have ever seen.

About the hologram stuff - wow. Technology is getting to the point where soon we will be able to teleport from country to country instead of flying by airplanes. And illegal imergrants will most likely use some black market teleporters set up by genius's with custom hijacked hardware and software who would be making millions from it. Only thing is, if they get caught or something goes wrong nowdays then they are either stuck in a container for a long time or caught and deported whereas when teleport technology messes up... well that would be interesting. I can see it now "New TV Series: Teleports From HELL... or When Teleporting Goes Wrong" LOL

OK, I haven't watched it yet, but does it flicker and does she ever say,

          "Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi"?

These are some awesome answers and funny ones too.

I never thought about the Star Wars movie. If you watch it closely, you might see R2D2 in the background beaming the hologram.

Wait until this thing hits mainstream. We'll have all of the gurus in our living rooms during product launches.

            Talk about possibilities.

No need to watch the clip then, Peter. She says, "Help me Obi-Wan...you're our only hope..." Then it looks like she is bending down slightly to put something into a slot, then it flickers again and she keeps repeating it.

            What could it mean?

Very cool technology...but I just don't "get it" beyond the cool factor.

I mean, she was in Chicago right, so wouldn't you want to see her actually IN CHICAGO..not the studio?

Damn, I missed that. I wonder who owns the technology (and what their ticker symbol is)

That is pretty amazing technology. I was actually watching ABC. They were using a dynamic touchscreen to do all of their reporting. They could touch on states and see what counties have actually reported who they voted for and things of that nature.

    It was very amazing.

Yeah - the holograms and the touch screen technology. What's funny is when you have these local yokal stations attempting to use their 'sophisticated' technology and they spend more time on camera trying to get it to work right, than they do reporting on the election results. And half the time, the technology was working right - it was the reporter who was completely clueless. You'd think they'd have tried it out before going on camera. Oh well....
