I have been getting spam in my yahoo mail for months - it mostly gets filtered but...

This bot is accessing my account even after I have changed passwords which suggests there must be a keylogger on my ubuntu partition.

I know this because the emails have aspects similar to legit emails I am receiving.

They are often from people with the same name or on the same topics as my legit emails but the contents are either gibberish or porn.

I have never scanned linux for a keylogger before - guess its time I did.

I reckon somebody is experimenting trying to get a bot to write emails that appear human generated - but they have a long way to go.

Now that's a heads-up post by you. I have heard that Linux PCs don't get virus.

Now its worse - I am being bombarded with spammer friend requests from yahoo messenger.

I am a hairs breadth from dissing yahoo forever it used to be great but has gone down the drain in the last 6 months, endless spam, email search does not work - and now this.

You could try using virtual keyboard to avoid keyloggers detections. For example, with kaspersky that feature is built in, but you can find similiar programs standalone.

There are some small scripts available on net to hack the yahoo account of any one, and there is not any bot.

Sounds like what I experienced about 3-4 months ago. A bot or script or whatever hacked into me yahoo account and sent mails to my contacts- referring them to go to some online store or so...

I hurriedly changed my password. Well, haven't seen it happen again...yet.

Change password asap, then use some antivirus ( maybe the free avast antivirus or ms antivirus) and do a search on your computer.

if it still don´t work, contact yahoo support.
