My baby just started crawling on December 14, 1:155 am PST. Now he plows through obstacles I lay before him. I really have to watch him. He literally leaps like a little tiger for things like a box of tissue paper and I have to catch him before he falls off the sofa or the side of the bed.

He's quite an insistent participant on the computer keyboard when he's with me as I'm working on the computer. I've learned about the variety of little challenges that can surface when little hands randomly bang on various keys.

He loves the game BabySmash that someone on this very forum introduced to me, but I can't always have that on.

Oh My! What a cute Little One! I love the leaping tiger image.

It's a real problem because their attention span is so short. A game might interest them for 5 seconds but not for long enough for you to do any work. This reminds me of when my daughter was little. I put her in a playpen while I did sewing for the public. It helped some but she still kept me busy retrieving her toys that she threw out of the playpen in her sort of a game.

Doing your work at your baby's nap time is probably the only perfectly safe thing to do during this developmental age. Another alternative could be enrolling your child in a Mothers Day Out (MDO) program usually operated in churches. The MDO will probably give you a couple of half days a week to work without distraction.

Babies need constant supervision when they start crawling. This is such a fun age because they are so cute and personable.

    Best wishes, Carole
