DNS High Jacking
Has anyone ever heard of searchportal.information.com ? I went to change one of my domains dns settings yesterday and almost immediately it was redirected to search portal.information.com and not to the domain it should have. Usually when I change dns settings, for the first 24 hours it's in and out with a 404 or the domain it is suppose to direct too. But not this time, it kept going to http://searchportal.information.com . It did this in both IE 7 and FF.
Is there such a thing as DNS high jacking or DNS poisoning ? The domain in question is hosted with 1and1 and I was changing the DNS settings to Hostgator. My other domains hosted with 1and1 pointing to hostgator work fine.
