since last year, ive had huge issues with strained and computer eyes because i ddint use a filter for my laptop lcd screen and the light was huge and i was on for long long hours.

I got a small irritation that i never had in the past, i used some eye drops as DR suggest me but i still have this, i also have headaches and all

its been so long term now that i fear it can be detrimental to my eyes and brain. I visited eye doctor he told me it doesnt harm the eyes but i mean in the long run i think it can not be good

anyway to cure this? i guess staying away from the computer for 2,3 weeks could maybe help me disappear that eye irritation

Fazal: I have the same problem; I need to use a small TV screen or a 21 inch computer screen; Everything is fuzzy; since going online over a year ago the eyes have been getting worse. At some point; yes ; there can be damage; but i cannot recall what the opthalmologist called it.

She suggested restasis which is over $300 USD a month and that is with my insurance discount, they irritated my eyes and i had to stop.

I am hoping to get a larger screen soon, i have a 16inch; i think.

Just remember that at some point the dryness can damage the eyes permanantely ; so i have asked to be sent to yet another specialist. although, the opthalmologist felt there was nothing else to be done. i had artificial tear ducks put in my eyes as well; but that didnt help and it usually does.

so my problem is definitely the computer use; and i cannot stop as i have to "make it online" no quitting for me. I was told to take frequent breaks from the computer/ at least ten minutes every hour.

    Good Luck !

    Blink!

Seriously I went through everything you are describing. I have dry eyes and I continue to have problems though they occur less as monitors have improved.

You may have to get offline for a few days for your irritation to clear up first.

    Good luck.

If your using anything below a 21 inch screen you will defiantly strain your eyes,I'm at the computer for at least 12 hours a day but I never feel any strain because I have a larger monitor, the older days when I had a 17 inch tube style monitor then I always had headaches.
So try to do your work on a desktop with a decent monitor instead of a small screen laptop.

Maybe your home is too dry... dry eyes are worse for me in the winter with the furnace and in the summer when the air conditioning runs. Ask your doctor how often you can use the eye drops and try sun glasses to cut down on the glare if you don't have a glare screen. You might need to wear the sunglasses otherwise during the day as well because any kind of bright light will add to the problem when your eyes are already irritated.

As for the headaches, you might need your neck adjusted or get a professional massage if you haven't had the laptop in the correct position for viewing. Muscle strain will give you a headache.
