Payton Manning cut

Someone needs to tell Peyton that I hear Denver's a great place to play QB.

As a lifelong Colts fan I'm sorry to see him go.

I thank him for his service and wish him well in his future endeavors - unless he plays the Colts.

Looks like we'll be rebuilding and I know what that means.

I think Peyton is the best player of this generation. And the Colts record last without him year kind of proved it.

While Andrew Luck is a great prospect, he's still a prospect. There's no way I would have let Peyton go. Peyton pretty much built the new stadium in Indy.

This move makes economic sense and we have to remember this is Professional football so it is all or mostly about the money. I feel bad for Colts fan as they lost a great one. As a lifelong Patriots fan I would not mind seeing him land in Miami or even with the Jets. While it would be tough to play against him of course, it would be fun to see him twice a year ----- of course the Pats will kill' em!

If he's healthy enough to play he'll land somewhere else, unless he chooses to retire.

TL, it looks like you're in for some lean years while they coach up a new QB. Following Manning won't be an easy job either. Indy fans will need patience.

My money is he will play in Phoenix...

He will want to play in a dome stadium......a cold weather city, open air stadium will be hard on his aging, healing body....leaves NY Jets, Redskins, Dolphins, KC out.

Phoenix has the fanbase...sold out stadium week after week...

He wants to play for a possible contender....leaves rebuilding teams like Redskins, Dolphins, KC out...

With tools like Larry Fitzgerald.....add the willingness to also sign Reggie Wayne (his favorite receiving target in Indy) ...it's got to be real tempting...

One of the best defenses is a major plus...

Only issue will be if Phoenix will throw enough money at his.

Personally I think he was a fool to sign a new contract with the Colts in the first place. Maybe its just me but if I were the best QB in the history of the planet...and my team owners poo poo'd the idea of trying to go undefeated...I simply wouldnt want to play for them anymore.

Going undefeated is the single greatest accomplishment you can achieve....its not winning a Superbowl...that happens every year (yawn)...and I got money says you can't remember who won the thing 6 years ogo, 4 years ago, 11 years ago.

..But they talk about the undefeated Dolphins every single year without fail.

The ability of a human being to dig down deep and raise his level of performance is a marvelous thing...and when MORE is on the line...it happens more often.

Manning's WR's dropped 3 TD passes in that superbowl against the Saints...they failed him....I guess that extra two game rest didnt do much afterall. It certainly eliminated the opportunity to go undefeated...the very thing that might have sparked some great play, when they needed it most. The Colts owners removed a very good (possibly the best imaginable) internal motivating mechanism...and to me that was just blithering stupidity.

Manning should have signed with a team that is willing to set no limits to anything he wants to try to achieve.

Reports are that Payton has informed the Skins that he's not interested in playing in the nation's capitol.

From what I understand, my Broncos were the first to contact him...But I think the best fit for Peyton is with Miami or Houston. If he goes to Houston, they'd have to be the favorites to win the Superbowl next year.

Actually, Peyton's in town talking to John Elway as I'm typing this. I'd love for him to be a Bronco. Local news is reporting that Manning's been in meetings for more than 4 hours and hasn't left the Bronco comples yet. Local news is also reporting it's between Denver, Arizona and Miami, with Miami being the favorite.

The best thing Tebow could do is sit and watch Manning for a couple of years, like Steve Young did behind Montana.

Like I've posted before, Peyton is my favorite non-Bronco player...And I'd give anything to see him be a Bronco.
