YouTube video download programs?

I have run into a few videos that I want to download.
Can anyone recommend a legal program for this?

You can easily download videos from this site, just paste the video url in the box (top/center).

You don't have to download any software.

Download videos from Youtube for free!

  Kim you can do it right on youtube.
  When your on the video page just type 'save' before youtube in the URL like this.
  Save YouTube > Download YouTube Videos Online for Free
  It will switch to a page where you can download the video in all sorts of formats.
  I've also been using the flash video down loader in FF lately as it allows me to download from many different sites

  You just try a standalone YouTube Video Recorder. I use it to download many HD and SD music videos from YouTube. What's more, it supports converting flv or mp4 streaming videos to other popular formats like avi, wmv and 3gp. You will easily master it, since its default download way is to automatically grab video source as soon as the video is opened.

  You just need to install the Internet download manager in you PC. Once you install this particular software, you will find a download link over the video.

One way is to download the Real player. It has an option to download any flash video. And it's from a legitimate company with a long history so you know it's probably safe.

I'm sorry,I'm addicted to Chrome.

Of course,that might not be a good thing....

because....

Thom, I can't do what you suggested because it keeps telling me I need to install Java and it wont install for some reason.

I'm going to keep trying though.

If you don't want to download video by copying and pasting URL, you can choose to download the streaming video grabber software. As soon as you play the videos on youtube, it will automatically detect and download the video for you. It really works, you should have a try.

Keepvid is the best as far as am concerned. You can download not only youtube videos, but also videos from Vimeo, metacafe and daily motion.

  StreamTransport (google it) worked for me for downloading a particular video that realplayer or firefox downloaders could not do. Also tried the youtube downloader mentioned here but that didn't work for this video either, only StreamTransport did.
