OMG, I am living currently on the Grey Lady - known better as the island of Nantucket.

The cats are coming in with TICKS like crazy. Limes disease is just a normal casualty here.

I am currently looking for programs to promote with organic anti tick products, and found a great site with a great product - tick key - which works like a charm on the kitties and flicks the buggers right out.

One went flying and I couldn't find it - LOL, went nuts feeling myself up and running my fingers through my hair.

Want to know how long it will live without a host. OMG.

Just had to vent a bit

I know just what your saying, Jill. Those little buggers start showing up around here around the middle of April. Just in time for mushroom and turkey season. Can't stand those little blood suckers!!

Every time you go into the woods you have to strip search yourself to find them. Insect repellent helps but seems like you still get a few on yourself.

I have to check the dog and cats regular for them.

Ticks creep me out. Even leeches don't wig me out as much since they don't burrow like ticks. G'luck keepin' them under control.

They are real heavy this year out here, too - I use tea tree oil. They really hate that stuff.

    skin crawling.

Reminds me of a hike a few friends and I went on. All was well and it was a great day until the ride home in the car. Felt something behind my ear. Sure enough, tick.

Well that started a wave a panic which resulted in everyone climbing out of the car and stripping down to our undies.

Mosquitoes, horse flies and tick. vile creatures.

I went and visited a friend yesterday, she lives north-west of Brisbane. We picked two ticks off her dog and one off her son. These are paralysis ticks, and one adult tick can kill a calf. Don't they know it's winter and not tick season?

Yuck Jill, they are nasty. I'm in Connecticut (home of Old Lyme, where Lyme Disease got its name) and we get tons of them. My cats are all indoor-only thank goodness, but we have to be extra careful with my husband because he has no spleen and Lyme Disease would be deadly to him. I get to do a head to toe tick check after he mows the lawn or we spend any time outdoors.
