As I recall, the BEATLES got treated the SAME way! One guy is FAMOUS for starting a LOT of famous boy and girl bands and did the SAME! And they have done the SAME for kid actors! MANY parents pulled this trick!

There are really only about THREE ways to get so much and have so much control. One could get you FIRED! One could get you SUED! The THIRD is covert and hard to track, and could give you MORE control! The method? Exaggerate expenses, or get unreimbursed kickbacks.

So that is probably why they did it. SUPPOSE, for example, you have a venue that is common. You could set up a shell, and create a sublet arrangement with a building you OWN! You could EASILY charge $1000 a day, keep the group happy, depreciate the expense and get a deduction on the mortgage. It seems like a win/win/win situation, but you get maybe $700+ a day EXTRA for NOTHING! The group could maybe have gotten similar accommodations for LESS! All the records may say you paid $1000 a day, but your actual outlay may be more like $1000 for the month. With proper scheduling, you could maybe get it near 100% occupancy.

The guy with those bands owned a little airline service, and he declared THAT an expense!
