Not something I'd post on FB for a daily dose of cute, that's for sure.

Creepy!, but cool! I have never seen video of one, thanks Terra!

The Goblin shark was also believed to be a sort of "pilot" fish for the Carcharodon Megalodon. Some people believe that it too is still out there!

I have a book around here written by a man that survived the Indianapolis (WWII ship), and spent his life researching sharks. He writes in the book that he saw this Megalodon off of some remote island around Australia.

The natives worshiped this shark, "Aru" is what they called it. They would throw slatured pigs over a cliff and wait for it to appear. The man describes it's dorsal fin as the size of a small sail, and it's jaws, mouth, able to swallow a small truck.

That's all I can remember about the, um, story, but it was interesting. Can you imagine if it were true and somewhere out there this huge beast still existed?

There you have it, your ridiculous story for the day!

P.S. My tinfoil hat is shaped like a dorsal fin!

      Wow! A shark buff!

My first thought was that it reminded me of the alien from the movie.

I love the ocean from the sandy, sunny shores and I'm now convinced I'll keep it that way. My brother keeps wanting me to learn to scuba dive and go out with him, but I'll keep telling him no. I have a better reason now than just telling him I don't want to have to crap in my pants, lol!

My dream is to go to Australia and pet a great white! IN A REALLY SECURE SHARK CAGE!

I am a huge shark buff.. but I do prefer to study them from shore! :p

I would love to learn to scuba dive, but (pun intended), I would crap my pants if I saw a shark too! "ewwww"

Things like these are the reason that, while I can swim really well, I stay out of ocean water or lakes where the seaweed is really tall and thick. There are extremely strange things in water and I am not fond of close encounters of the bizarre nature.

I said I would never go in the ocean, due to all of the stuff that lives in there.

Once I actually got to SEE the ocean in person though, man, you couldn't get me out of the waters.. LOL I was out there swimming after dark (not a good idea, I know.. but I love it)

When I moved to Oregon the first time I moved in december. Didn't know more than a couple people by New Years, so took a drive out to the beach for NY Eve to just walk the dog and stop at the campfires on the beach and talk to people for a few minutes here and there. My experience with ocean beaches up to that time was Florida, where you get things in the water like jellyfish right up near shore. I used to wade, but only deep enough I could see through to bottom.

Anyhow - at midnight everyone on the beach started to strip down and plunge in the water. Of course, I just figured that was a spectator sport. Not only did the thought of plunging into ocean water in the dark give me the heebie jeebies - it was freaking COLD and I'm no polor bear.
