I wrote a brilliant solution to why some things are so temporary and can suddenly vanish. But I accidentally clicked off the page and it is gone.

A good shrink can fix that for ya. Um.........I don't mean you're crazy (although maybe a tad), I mean hypnotherapy. It's not gone, it's still there - you just need to get someone who can get you back in touch with it.

Speaking of that -- where do things go when you delete them? You can't just completely un-exist something - that would go against rules of physics. So where do they go?

I don't know the answer to that Sal, but if that place is ever located I bet you'll find it also has every missing sock from the beginning of time.

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.

My earmuffs would be there, and the missing Dr Seuss jigsaw puzzle piece.

There is a memory technique taught for this sort of thing. All memories associate themselves to something else already in memory. A simple illustration is when you hear a certain song some time later it often induces spurts of memories about what you were doing or other similarities, last time you heard it.

In your case, trying to zero in on what you were thinking just pushes it further away. The idea is to try to feel around in your thoughts and snag those things which your brain subconciencly used for association. You have no idea what those ques are but you can find them.

Where were you sitting when you were writing, what were you thinking about or viewing just previous to your writing. Did anyone else say anything to you during it, did the cat do anything specific that you noticed while you were writing...you get the idea.
