Undisputed proof that the Apollo Astronauts got their undergarments from a women's erotic underwear catalogue. A film is being made about it too.

I'm sure that, if bras didn't exist, they would have done much the same thing. Although many women were dissuaded from working in the US, and their options were limited, weren't clothing jobs generally done by women? It wasn't exactly considered a male profession. Given the technology, and culture, of the time, I would have expected the work to be done by women, even if a firm like playtex wasn't given the contract.

BTW you know how the prototype for the artificial aorta used in my operation came to be? TRUE STORY!!!!! The doctor that came up with the idea used parts, supplies, and a sewing machine of his mothers! She ALSO taught him to sew. So even though a man came up with the use and implementation, a woman helped in a big way to facilitate it, and even provided the materials and equipment for the prototype. It wasn't much, just a dacron tube, but it has saved a lot of lives, including mine.
