God I hope this is right -- If not this guy is getting lynched!

Sal,

Alan Keys won the nomination for the Independent ticket. I'm seriously thinking about switching from Chuck Baldwin (EXCELLENT CHOICE) to Alan Keys. America's Independent Party

From what I've been reading, Paul isn't running for President any longer but is still in the congressional run for Texas. (too bad! He's an excellent choice for President too). I could be wrong. IF he is running....that will be a WONDERFUL!

When Swartzanegger ran for governor, ALL the Republicants backed him....giving him the "umph" he needed to win. I believe if the "pissed off", disillusioned Americans who are genuinely fed up and who CAN vote will quit griping and back ONE constitutionally dedicated candidate.....we can take the election by popular vote from both the Democraps and Republicants. (Yes, I'm that raving furious with BOTH parties).

Right now, the Independents are backing Keys, and the Constitutional Party is backing Baldwin....which means that either McCain or Obama will end up in office because of the FACTIONING our Independent vote. However, how do you convince these guys who to back? I personally, would go with Keys because more people know him....he's not a complete unknown like Baldwin is. He also has more "press" than Baldwin, however; Baldwin was on MSNBC a couple of days ago. So, I don't know.

For those warriors who think that politics doesn't apply to you. You are afraid of loosing your e-mail opt in lists or whatever....just think about doing business in a SOCIALIST economy where the PEOPLE ARE SERVANTS OF THE STATE instead of THE STATE BEING THE SERVANT OF THE PEOPLE! That is where we are headed, folks. Google North American Union. Look up spp.gov . It's scary what our illustrious President Bush has put into place in the last eight years right under Congress' nose.....however, for this BRIEF MOMENT....we can still do something before it's too late.

We need to REALLY think about who we are voting for this election. :confused: 60 days people.......60 days.

Not really sure if Paul can still get in the elections or not - but if he can, damn it - he needs to do it. After that Hitler fest of an RNC, it would be right on time.

Dorothy - this is the first I have been accused of looking like Loretta Swit - or Sally Kellermen (another thread). I have been told Carol Burnette, Lil Tomlin, Jane Fonda, and Jamie Lee Curtis. Now none of those women look even a tad alike so how I look like them all is beyond me. Just have one of those "seen you before" faces I guess.

Back to Politics. I don't know what that article was about, but it was just fun to fancy Paul in the race again now. I am still hoping for a massive revolutionary write in. We are so screwed if the media choices (aka government approved candidates) get in. I hate dictatorships.

Although I'm not American, I'm still interested as to how your elections play out as whatever happens there will no doubt affect us UKers. This week I watched both the official RNC convention (scary to watch) and also the Ron Paul "Rally for The Republic" Convention (excellent) along with the live streaming of the masses of people involved in the protests outside.

Montana and possibly Louisiana so far...

With some of the boards I'm on, MANY people will just write him in even if he isn't on a ticket. I went back and read that article....I'm with you! I hope it's true! Ron Paul is who I wanted to vote for, even though he's libertarian. I've thought about just writing him in myself. I've been on MANY boards the last couple of weeks doing the same thing I'm trying to do here.....get people out there voting for Constitutional candidates.

Heee.....heee.......it's a compliment! I wish I looked that good!

They went to far extremes to Black out Ron Paul. The only attention he got was when they thought he was insignificant. As soon as they found out how many of us really wanted him, boom -out of the news. I don't know about you, but I don't take kindly to having my decisions made FOR me and I don't like the other two choices -- to the point of thinking they are dammned dangerous.

You are right Dorothy - people are writing their choice in this time around -- by the thousands, lets hope it turns out to be by the MILLIONS.

BTW - thanks for the compliment Dorothy. I work at it (as my sig shows). It's good to get positive feedback.

That's why I was so heartsick when Ron Paul removed himself from the race. I'm still on the Ron Paul boards, but it's been total confusion. I'm very comforted that he is on the ticket for the Independent vote, but NOW he's lost momentum as Alan Keys is the candidate they chose. Also, Chuck Baldwin is the candidate for the Constitution Party and Bob Barr is the Libertarian candidate. So, where does that leave Ron Paul? I hope that by the MILLIONS we vote against the Demos and Repubs, but all it will be is scattered to the wind unless we unite with ONE candidate. Unless G-d does a miracle (which happens) I don't see it. All it will mean is that the dems and repubs get fewer votes but will still be counted as majority DESPITE the onslaught of third party votes. I'm just venting to you but also writing to the other parties that we support ONE PERSON WITH ALL OUR RESOURCES because that is the only way we are going to make any impact. They're not listening. (sigh)

I don't like having my decisions made for me either.....but unless we can put a fire under the voter's asses, and get these numskulls running the third party campaigns to unite.....who to vote for ain't the only thing going to be decided for us.

Ron Paul is the American choice candidate. The media has done a good job of trying to block hime out.
Any intelligent person that looks at his record can see that.
He wants the country to follow the constitution-thats contrary to the current policies that ignore it.
He has been accused of being a isolationist,thats the farthest from the truth of reality.
And yes Sal I have to say I agree, if that pic is you, I'm suprised, I too thought it was hot lips houligan ( I think that was her name )
PS: I am on Ron Pauls mailing list.I guess I will see if I get news on Monday.
If my state allows it, I am writing in Ron Pauls name.

Ron Paul is no longer a force to be reckoned with in this election. At best he will be able to steal a few votes from Barack Obama and John McCain (probably more from McCain than Obama if pundits are to be believed). Ultimately he will still lose, and we will still end up with a Democrat or Republican in office, as that is the nature of a two party electoral system. All Ron can really hope to do as an outsider is cause a bit of grief for the main party candidates. People are going to vote in party for the most part.

Paul may get more votes then ya'll think.
I was just over at a motorcycle forum I frequent and a lot of the members there are talking about writing him in.
When you consider that a lot of them are x military and very loyal to their political parties it tells me that he is getting support from groups that you wouldn't expect it from.
Some of them are members of another MC forum that threw me out of it last year for calling Bush a liar, so I'd say the times they are a changing.

Out of Obama, Biden, McCain and Palin, she is the only one that seems to have a frigging brain in her head.

She's also the only one of the 4 that I know of who is a lifetime member of the N.R.A., an avid hunter, and favored cannibis legalization in Alaska.

  Looks like Montana says they want Ron Paul, too - they just put him on the ballot on the Constitutional Party ticket! Louisiana might be following suit.

  Uh...um...thanks Thomas (and Kim) but I really don't look like here. It's just a trick of the hat and hair I would think. And yeah, I was kinda hot about 30 years ago in my mid 20's. I wish I had a good pic of me from back then - you'd see I look nothing like Lorretta Switt or Sally Kellerman or any of them, LOL.

Uh...so why are we talking about my freaking picture? Should I get on the ballot, too? Insanely radical to the point of Anarchy Ticket maybe - or just another scary chick to look at ticket?

Even though RP may be on the 2 ballots (and may be on some more), the voter purge currently being undertaken by Republicans may make a lot of votes ineffective...

Yes, it's the same on a trucker's forum I'm on. I asked them to endorse Chuck Baldwin, and they were pretty much of the same accord with Ron Paul. This is going to be interesting to watch! I'm still going to post wherever I can, and encourage EVERYONE TO VOTE!

She does! I was trying to figure out what famous actress she resembles.

This is interesting news about Paul, since I saw several interviews with him where he said he would not run on a third-party ticket this year.

The way the system is set up (ballot access laws, lousy media coverage, etc.), a third-party candidate has almost zero chance of being elected President in the forseeable future.

There are a lot of voters who say they like candidate X but won't vote for him or her because "they can't win".

Look at Ross Perot in 1992. He was already famous, had tons of money, even made it into a debate with the major candidates, yet still only got 19% of the vote and no electoral votes.

That was pertty much the gist of his announcement.
That and calling for us the American voters to force a change so we can have fair elections.

There are a lot of voters who say they like candidate X but won't vote for him or her because "they can't win".

That's the problem in a nut shell.
