Anyone doing Rank+Rent for Lawyers?

I thinking about doing this, as Ive been doing for many other niches. Is there something in particular I should watch out for?

basically the site will be mine, with a generic type of lawyer name, and once I start generating leads I will reach out to a lawyer to take over.

I have a few but it's a bit tricky because there are laws in different states. You technically can not receive the leads, ever. You can't go to an attorney and say hey, I have leads for you... that is illegal. A rent a site model for attorneys can be very risky, I STRONGLY recommend against it unless you really know what you're doing.

Can you give me tips on how to position myself to do this?

Maybe instead of saying I'm selling them leads, I would offer them to just rent the whole site each month for a flat fee?

Yes you can do that but the problem is if you rank the site beforehand, you still are giving false representation.

I have family in law so I've always been able to set up a site and have leads going straight to them before renting it out even though they couldn't use most of the leads.

If you're going to do this, maybe you should call or contact some attorneys before you get started and tell them exactly what your plan is. Tell them you will be making a website and ranking it in the search engines but before you rent it, you would like the form submissions and calls to go somewhere that they can get help, and with their permission you would like to send those leads to them for free.

Doing that will cover your bases and maybe end up allowing you to build a relationship and rent it out to that person as well.

No, you just don't collect the leads and/or put a real lawyer in its place. BTW, that is the very very least of your concerns. You are putting the cart before the horse. You have to build, rank, and rent (sell first). But here are reasons why you should NOT use rank and rent until you at least have a large client base of businesses.

I've done this strategy in other markets.

            1) You have to invest a good amount of time and money into building the website properly and backlinking it to rank.

            2) You don't have a local address so you will never get in the 7 pack. You can use your home address but chances are you use it for your own (web design/marketing business).

            3) Even when you rank and generate leads you have to convince/sell someone to use your leads. We gave clients free leads and asked them if they wanted more, then sell.

            4) Good luck getting passed secretaries. You have to be polished on the phone. Calling up a law firm and asking them if they want leads isn't going to get you passed any gatekeepers.

In short, rent & rank is very shiny and promising. Theory vs reality though; you would be better served selling leads through networks vs going it alone. IF you can get a local verified address in Google My Business the cost and barrier to entry becomes much lower, but you still have to sell someone on buying your leads and/or renting the website.

A better strategy is to contact someone ranking in the F/G slots and telling them you can rank them in the "A" slot for "city + lawyer" as the first result in Google. Charge monthly or larger one time fee. Offer money back guarantees if they don't rank in the A slot.

Rank/rent is a pipedream. Even with tremendous resources, VA teams, software, and sales experience its much much harder than selling a real business on improving from weaker local slots, to the A slot.

Yeah, I don't touch the rent a site/leads model for attorneys either. But if you know what you're doing and can help them rank within the top 3 it can be very lucrative. But you must deliver results or they'll cut you loose.

    Hi guys!
is rank and rent sites business still working in 2015? I never done this and it´s sounds atractive for a web designer with some basic SEO knowledge,

I´ve read some threads about this topic here at WF dating from 2013, so I see it´s nothing new and that´s why I wonder if still worth the effort. I´m interested in target small cities around the globe but specially from europe.

    Any advise is appreciated.

Rank and Rent is possible but you had better be a good salesman. I did some last year on my own, not following some gurus, course.

Most of the rental site model products that were released and pushed upon people in 2014 were all a bunch of crap and filled with false hoods and down right lies.

      I agree with Rus...

this may have worked initially....and if it did, I doubt it worked for lawyers..

the laws governing what they can say in ads vary from state to state....getting "referrals" may be a breach of ethics

even for non law sites I think this is a hard area to work into

lead generation is another area that is not as easy as the gurus would have you believe

put your thinking cap on : if this was so profitable, so wonderful, why would these successful people write a flimsy pdf and sell it for $27 or $37 ...why would they entice affiliates to push it and get some "who is that"? reviewers on a flimsy blogs to push it?
      Hello.....

With upcoming chages at Google this will only be even harder still I really think
