A free way to find bizopp address leads?

List brokers can be expensive to start. Is there a way to find bizopp seekers' addresses for free?

EG., if I was a copywriter looking to sell services, I could get business addresses for free off the magazines/newspapers they advertise in. More time consuming than a list broker but free nonetheless.

Any clever ways to go about getting bizopp seeker's addresses?

There are very few quality list brokers offering biz-op lists, the few that do, have too many nixies. Even so a list broker can save you time, and the idea of finding a quality list for free is a long shot.

Your post has TWO separate markets:

    1) The Biz-Op seeker
    2) The Biz-Op seller.

Business addresses are readily available, even so, if you want to sell services, like copywriting, then you need to target businesses who buy copywriting services. It would be a terrible way to find potential clients for your writing services.

Again, which of the two markets are you interested in?

I'm interested in bizopp seekers, so people who might be interested in make money online offers etc.

Hard to beat the number of Warriors seeking a make money online offer, and for FREE.

A WSO will be seen by hundreds of MMO types. Your sig file to a landing page. maybe a free deal to capture email, but that is pretty much what everyone does.

If what you have is any good, consider joint ventures or affiliate marketing.
hundreds of online marketers with lists of seekers.

I don't understand the problem, is there a reason you can't try some of the time tested ways to make your biz-op known?

To be clear, the leads I'm looking for are addresses for offline direct mail, not emails.

And to answer your question, the reason I'm looking for an alternative to renting names from list brokers is because it can cost $500 per 1000 addresses for a 1-time mailing, which is quite a heavy investment.

One idea I've heard is to go to list owners directly and ask if they want to share half the profits of my product if I can mail their addresses with it, but they might not want to do that with an unknown.

Just my gut feeling here, but many of the quality commenters in this section have an aversion to MMO offers ("opportunities") and you'll either get a limited response or a negative one (I'll keep my opinions out of this post). In my experience most commentary around here involves business transactions and prospecting efforts with other businesses.

Been in Biz-Op for over 40 years. Had full page ads run in USA TODAY, newspapers and magazines.
Direct mail campaigns which pulled in hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Wrote TV infomercials and radio ads, for Biz-Op.
Consulted with many Biz-Op sellers over the years.
Developed the Professional Remote Direct Marketing Home Study Course, which was a breakthrough product, all about Biz-Op.
Have written direct mail pieces for many well known "opportunities" names.

          Point?

I'm not here to blow smoke...

My expertise is provided on an "as I want to" basis.

The OP is free to make his/her own choices about what is quality...don't you think?

As recently as one year ago, we scoured the country for a list of Biz-op seekers, and one of the oldest and most reliable list brokers in the biz, told us it was like finding hen's teeth at a rooster ranch.

The market has changed dramatically in the last decade. BUT, for the right offers to the right market, there is some moolah to be made.

Considering the client I had was a 30 year success in direct response and had a complete research dept., I think I'll stick with his findings...

not withstanding all the "quality comments" found at the WF.

Many, many years ago (ah...the good ole times!) I was involved in offering a Business Opportunity. I rented many quality lists from MacroMark.

Here's a link to their website, more specifically to their Biz Opp related lists:
Seminar Attendees Mailing Lists | Financial Seminar Attendees Mailing Lists | Macromark

P.S. I think I remember seeing a newsletter way back when from gjabiz ... a true legend in the field of all things mail order!

            Working from Home since 1991
(Well before anyone knew it could be done!)

IF your offer would appeal to any of their lists, I would advise to test their lists.

HOWEVER, as best as I can tell, the OP wants to find FREE USPS or home mailing addresses to send them an ONline biz-op, and maybe there is a rabbit in the hat somewhere.

Just saying an experienced marketer would take the shortest route (a list) and mail to the most frequent buyers or attendees and any HOT (90) days the broker might have.

NextMark, MacroMark, SRDS, or reputable list brokers would be a faster way to test this. The most winners seem to be MLM or Network Marketers promotions to those already on a list doing this.

To get a guy, for example, searching for franchises, and you compile that list, and someone mails an offer to an ONline biz-op, he is going to have a long day.

But, I could be wrong, so I again wish the OP good luck in finding what he is looking for.

I'm not looking to forumers on this section as leads themselves lol. I was wondering how one could find names and addresses besides a list broker.

These days, people don't give away their mailing addresses, so the most you can usually get t is their email address and a fake name... lol

On occasion, you might find someone's website showing their mailing address, but that kind of search may be way too time consuming. You either have to rent or buy the lists, run ads requesting mailing address or arrange a joint venture with people who already have the lists, or as Gordon suggested start an affiliate program where others will get prospects for your product.

            Good luck to you!

I wrote quality commenters, not quality comments. Most of those actively participating will likely not be aligned with MMO type opportunity seekers has been my experience in this section.
