Any Advice for Running Facebook Ads to Local Business Owners?

I am looking to provide marketing services that include SEO, Facebook ads, Adsense, and web development to local business owners. Just wondering if anyone has had success*with the facebook ads strategy as opposed to cold emails and phone calls and if so what was your approach to creating the ad? Content? video? pictures? ext. Thanks

    Hey,
cold calls and emails have never worked in my hands...
What I would do is create a short video presentation with a voice over and select just the news feed to show it.

Also, make sure you really narrow down your targeting using the "digital activities" option.
Select people who use credit cards, place Facebook ads etc...this will increase the likelihood that your target audience has money to spend.

Another important selection in the targeting is the page admin option. This will help you connect with people who actively market their business online.

Finally, instead of the "learn more" button, choose the "send a message" button. This will get you to start a conversation on messenger and talk one on one...

    Hope that helps

Cold calling and online marketing have two things in common: you need to have the skills to succeed at it.

It depends on what you feel better right now because you can improve your skills at any time, if I were you I would opt for the online marketing.

Thanks a lot this helps. Just wondering though when you talk about adding buttons are you just talking about on your business page? Not in the post being advertised correct? Is there a link I should incorporate in my post?

Ive seen his youtube ads theyre pretty obnoxious not gona lie. His site only promotes selling tickets to his events. Is that the only way to get his content?

Any form of advertising be it door to door or FB ads.. they are single pieces to a greater puzzle. Somewhere within each method of outreach there needs to be mention or a link to the hub of all of your outward interaction. IE a website.

How and what you are communicating is more important than the method itself. If for example you were to run FB ads that said "we do SEO, web design, fB ads, and adsense.. contact us today". The overall effect is going to be pretty poor. Narrow that down to a single service and things start looking better.

I recently did a talk with a local group of business owners. This very kind of thing came up in the discussion. The business owners I was talking to happen to sell stuff and not services. The point of the discussion was to focus on a singe product, and not the whole store. The same applies when selling services.. sell one service, and not the whole collection of services you sell.

Just something to consider. Understanding the services you wish to provide, what could you offer for free as a way into the door? I have been suggesting as of late to become a Google Maps "Local Guide" The way into the door is to create a "guide" listing for each and every business. What do they offer? hours of operation. Location, an image of the store front etc.

This allows you to discuss the owners business and develop a workable relationship. and from that platform, you can then offer your services.. because with the ice breaker ( Local Guide ) you now better understand what they have, don't have, and what direction they may be interested in - without being pushy or even trying to get a sale.

A bonus side effect to your efforts is that you are creating a foundation for the work it is you offer... the ability for your potential clients to be seen on Google maps ( a huge bonus ) Segway that into setting up the Google and Bing business listings.. Segway that into developing a web presents.. Segway that to SEO, and as a quick traffic fix offer paid advertising services.

One simple FREE entry point, and you can service your new found clients long term.

Sometimes offering something that is within the same vertical as the services you offer, but slightly outside of the box makes things a bit easier.
