My Last Project Because Of The Undercover Billionaire

At 64 years old, my body is tired. I've lost most of my interest in business.

And then I saw the first few episodes of The Undercover Billionaire. It's on The Discovery channel, Tuesday nights at 10PM. Or you can go to the Discovery website to watch it, and watch past episodes.

This guy has stirred a small fire inside my ample belly.

For the last few years, I have been...very sporadically...working on a project where I put together everything I know about selling. It's a series of CDs, where I talk about every facet of selling. I would sell if from the stage, and on podcasts using joint ventures. My last project before I retire. I think The Undercover Billionaire spurred me into action.

Anyway, today, I found this on Youtube. It's a Joe Polish presentation at a Dan Kennedy event. I was there. I watched as (I think) 450 people (out of maybe 2,000) got out of their chairs to buy. So many people were in line to buy, that Polish's people had to go through the line getting credit cards, to make sure they didn't just leave before buying. One of the two or three best sales presentations I've ever seen as far as selling from the stage. Expertly crafted presentation. I based my own introduction video on what Joe did here.

Enjoy.

    You can't retire yet...
    You're but a youngster...
Didn't you know, 60 is the new 40...

You'll be bored pottering in the garden or watching afternoon TV...

We're business guys. Retiring isn't the same as for many others. My retirement would just mean I no longer have a retail store, and maybe no longer actively market.

But I'll probably still consult hourly, write, and speak...as long as it's in the US.

But I'll no longer be actively selling, one on one. And my skills will slowly erode and become outdated.

I do not think good basic skills are ever outdated, they may be packaged with a new fancy name, or given a new paint job, but under hood it's still the same stuff.

Many so called experts today are looking back to the past days for inspiration and meaning in a effort to move forward.

  • I retired once...

Everyone told me I could relax...

    Play with my grand kids...

    Enjoy the good life...

    Relish my golden years...

    That lasted one year...

    I'd rather make money.

I wouldn't. These are to sell. But I will probably put snippets on Youtube. And probably put interviews, and any other associated material on Youtube.

I do have a hundred or so sales training videos on Youtube now. If you just search Youtube with my name, they will come up.

I started working a semi retired lifestyle a couple of years ago, so I'm already fidgety and antsy with all the freed up time that created. Now the transition to going full time retired is so minuscule what it really means for me, besides the money, is I can be fidgety and antsy but also not have to deal with the #@$%! public, which I consider true freedom.

I get it. To me there is a huge difference between the "Public" and business customers.

I can't wait to no longer need to talk to regular people...with regular problems.

But salespeople? Business owners? I actually enjoy talking with talented salespeople. And that's where my expertise lies.

So I won't mind talking to other sales gurus, doing joint ventures on their podcasts.

But when someone tells me "You're so good at selling, because I can tell you genuinely love people".....I die a little inside.
