Slogan- Estate Sale Business

I'd think almost anything would be better than that....


She isn't selling 'memories' - she's selling 'stuff'.

Tell her to go to estate sales.

One of the reasons why people don't wanna do it -- is because they DO have memories attached to that stuff. People cry at the idea of having to sell mom's favorite painting. Or dad's favorite suit jacket. Or grandpa's old sedan.

I would never use the words cash, clutter, or stuff. I would talk to people. And find out what emotions are being tapped at the idea of having to sell their loved one's items.

There's a team of 2 ladies that do that near me. What they really do? Is help the family move through the grieving process. They don't liquidate, they don't turn it into cash, etc, etc.

These 2 ladies are affluent from it and booked solid. They know what it's about. The estate sale is part of the grieving process.

It's not movie cliches where naughty grand kids just want cash for cocaine.

I would go with something that gives the impression --

We'll do it so you don't have to.

That's not the wording I'd use. But that's what I want the buyer to feel. We're taking care of this, we know it's painful for you, we'll save you from the sadness.

It's empathy.

(You are protecting them)

Not a huge fan of the company name to begin with. You have to remember you are playing 2 games here. you are playing the game of getting hired TO liquidate, and then the game of actually liquidating.

I think you need to really dig a bit deeper here and think WHY she is doing this - right now the WHY reads as she wants to make a buck off of some other families misfortune. ( which happens to be the general opinion of these types of business'. )

I would rather see something like "<insert last name> Estate Sales" with a by-line of "The Estate Sales Experts"

I agree about the 'company name' - and my first post above was just off the top of my head. I would NOT use the word 'cash' or 'money'.



"estate sales", "estate liquidation", or "estate solutions" is descriptive enough - I'd leave the 'memories' out of the name. IMO that's too personal in a business meant to be practical.

You have already had several great answers.

"Turning you memories into cash" sounds clever...pithy.

But it's the opposite of what they want to hear. and estate sale means someone died. The memories have value. This is the worst time to mention getting rid of memories. And saying "cash' sounds good, but not from the prospect's point of view. It almost sounds vulgar.

And Life Memories Estate Sales is bad. A relative will see "Life Memories" and be less likely to want to sell the stuff.

Just be respectful and frank.... "Turner Estate Sales" or "Wayne County Estate Sales". No slogan. Slogans are cute, but they don't increase business. After someone dies, the survivors aren't looking for "Clever".


If the original poster really wants a slogan, I can't think of a better one. But I don't think it's needed.

Thanks again for everyone for their suggestions. I told my wife, there were a lot better names and your replies made it easier to convinced her.
