Leading brands like Mrs Fields, Saatva, and mindbodygreen are increasingly relying to SMS marketing to engage customers in personal and relevant ways.

What do you think? Is SMS marketing a relic of the past?

Even in today's advanced digital era, SMS marketing continues to hold its significance. Major brands are harnessing its power to connect with customers on a personal and streamlined level. The key lies in the execution and its seamless integration into a comprehensive marketing approach.

How frequent/sparse should marketers send SMSs and stuff?

It's still valuable. People would rather text on their terms then be on an hour long call.

  • I believe if we continue to communicate with our smart phones, text messaging (SMS) marketing will be around.
    Thanks

Great strategy especially since it's so convenient to customers.

I think SMS marketing is ok if the customer has explicitly given you permission to contact them about certain things or conditions.

Sending unsolicited SMS messages is spam and almost always useless.
  • Ain't no sparks flow outta no narks.

Shit pisses muh brains tbh, an' I ain't alone.

  • It still works but do it in a way where you don't want to bother them yet still want your offer to be seen by them

  • SMS is still one good way for digital marketing

    agree with you
  • i am not so sure, i have never tried it, it sounds like the same method as private messenging, the issue i have they dont know you, and were is the lead came from if its bought they delete it, but if they have opt in then thats ok i would always introduce yourselves and not pitch is the best method and not sell on the first sms is what i would do i hope this helps

i dont think there is a right or wrong time for any sort of marketing, sms marketing does work, i think first thing is to have their cell number from opt in page and not bought otherwise it will be reported as spam, but if they have gave consent then on the first sms is to properly introduce yourselves and then build up a realtionship via give value texts and then sell, the same sort of set up that their is for emal marketing it seem a slower process than the norm but it always works i hope this helps
  • Well interesting as i think sms marketing its a little bit complicated and not so easy to end transactions but maybe its just my opinion
  • yes this is right time for sms marketing.

  • Are people still using SMS nowadays? I thought people nowadays only use telegram and whatsapp for the same purpose as SMS.
  • SMS is a great marketing tool especially for local small businesses sending out discounts and deals.
    I love getting these.

However, for affiliate marketing and general web marketing, using bulk SMS sounds more spammy to me.
    Similar to email spam.

  • everyone has a phone but you need to use it right or your flushing money away.

whens the last time you received an sms from a company? me, i always opt out.

But if Im a raving fan of a brand and they have exclusive giveaway or promo you bet I'm subscribing.

I used to work for an ecom company and they used klaviyo. ROI was 300% most of the time because they had raving fans and it was in the beauty niche.
  • Im looking to get back into this for my local market. I used to use twilio.
Can anyone recommend a good service for me? Does anyone have any experience using textedly?

  • While newer digital marketing channels have emerged, SMS marketing is a powerful tool thanks to its high open rates, direct communication, broad reach, and strong engagement. Rather than being a relic of the past, it should be viewed as a complementary component of a well-rounded marketing strategy.
