Google Places - speeding up citations

Has anyone else been in a situation where the citations are out there but Google just isn't registering them?

Beyond pinging the citation urls is there anything else anyone has found effective in speeding the process up?

    Try social bookmarking the urls as well.

      doh - ment to include bookmarking too!

      at the moment seems to be taking at least 8 weeks - even though they are indexed almost instantly

    I know this is a silly question but are you 100% sure your citations match exactly the info on the GP profile?

    yes - with reason

    eg. some directory websites don't allow for "county" (similar to "state") or they add the word "county"
