White Lable SMS Business

There's been a lot of discussions about different providers and API's like twilio.

Ok... Let's step away from twilio or a specific provider for a second. If you were to be able to white label an offline text marketing "business" what features would you want.

I'm daydreaming/brainstorming here. But if you could get (to use the cliche) a business in a box where you get a text message marketing service with the features you want and supporting materials (marketing, contracts, etc); What would you want?

I'm not going to put this in a WSO and charge everyone for the grand secret. I'm really looking to see if we could leverage the collective power of this group to put together the perfect or semi perfect system that allows us all to succeed.

I've completely immersed myself in this topic, and have had great conversations with vendors, developers, and more. And I'm looking to see how we can all take advantage of this.

So if there were to be a business in a box solution... what would that look like?

Thanks for humoring my brainstorming session... My girlfriend is getting tired of hearing about SMS.

Next we'll all be designing a PMS;-) A Personal Messaging System.

I'm going to leave that comment alone.

Though I wonder how many letters we could use and still call it an abbreviation... PMMDS

      Personal Marketing Message Delivery System

And don't forget the obligatory 2.0 we'd have to add after it.

I know that is kind of vague, but I'm just playing with ideas here.

What would you pay on a monthly basis to have this white-label ecosystem to setup accounts at what not? I'm just trying to gauge what interest there is out there.

In full disclosure, I'm looking at a solution that I'd be able to white label to offline consultants. I would then create all the supporting materials needed, and provide training, coaching, etc.

The investment is quite large, but I'm willing to take the risk if there is interest from some parties out there.

Having the technology is one thing, but the supporting training materials I think would be huge. Contracts, Sales Scripts, And more...

There are already dozens of "monthly" payment fully developed systems out there. Personally, I am only interested in my own system, on my own server.

To estimate possible monthly charges, you might look at what others are trying to get and go from there. Sorry, I can't be of more help.

For me, the biggest factor is that it look like it is local. I am in Canada and it seems sources up here are scarce. If it is a short code, then nobody would know without research, but if it were long codes (being WAY cheaper for multiple keywords), I'd want something that works via a local long code. People will notice the area code and wonder if it is not local.

Otherwise, I like the idea of white label. I know it would probably cost me a bit more, but it also takes some of the headache away, so I just concentrate on servicing the customer, rather than worrying about techie stuff backends.

If we form a "group", it also means we can share ideas and success stories within the group. And details thereof. I like that. Coaching? Definitely a good feature.

I know of other Canadian offliners who would jump on a reasonably priced solution that works well up here.

My sentiments exactly Manxman. Many people are solely focused on something low cost, but my focus is the need for something low headache. For the time I might spend fixing or figuring out my cheap solution, I could gain another client

It seems as though there's more people these days that use their cell rings to text than there's people that employ the use of their rings for conversation. Text promotion was created to capitalize on the amount of people that elect to utilize their text messaging services. Through this type of advertisement, business owners can spread the message about their business to multiple people at time.

I'll look into the short code option for those in Canada. I would love to be able to offer a Canadian solution.

Either way, I completely understand your concern.

Currently I'm looking into a way to offer short codes with a large amount of keywords. I hate limiting an account to 1 keyword or even 2.

As a email marketer I'm big on segmentation and testing, so I think text messaging should be the same way.

Definitely agree here. That is what is attractive with the long code method. Affordable to have my own personal long code and unlimited keywords to rent out to clients.

Good news. I think I've found a way to offer short codes to Canada. It might take me a few weeks to implement, but it's been added to my roadmap.

As far as keywords go, I will be offering near unlimited keywords for short codes. Of course they are shared short codes, so you may still have to be a little creative, but we'll have more than one short code to spread out keywords. So while you may not be able to get VIP as a keyword you'll be able to get businessnameVIP and any others you may want.

Not certain I understand O.P.'s question but I like brainstorming.

I want a SMS autoresponder that sends scheduled for a specified date, and relative to the subscriber's optin date, and instant broadcast, and sends a birthday invite for the subscriber's birthday. It should facilitate a/b split testing in campaigns.

I want it to integrate with social media, like facebook, to take advantage of any viral effect that provokes.

I just wrote an app that does (most of) that, also supports a membership model, and hope to put in on sale soon. (It's currently in beta.)

Were those the kind of ideas you were looking for?
