I've got 8 clients to go to. They do not know it yet. I've got their local listing ratings with getlisted.org, and I plan to charge them 1000-1500 per month.

The Question:
Do I call them before I go to their office (easier for them to turn me down)

or Do I show up asking for 5 minutes of their time (higher conversion rate, but may make them uncomfortable)

Your Thoughts?

    You didn't give us much to go on. We don't know your confidence level. We don't know your history in offline marketing. We don't even know what services you provide, and what problems you solve. All we know is you have 8 prospects that you want to get $1,000 to $1,500 per month from, and that you have only two ideas for ways to initiate contact with them.

    Perhaps you can give us more to work with?

    I am not a long standing pro, just a guy that picked up offline marketing and now have the BUG. I also am a brick and mortar business owner as well.

    I would make sure you hide that list above....in fact I would rip it up and never pull it out again. Most business owners are only interested in the three things (3) Leads, Sales, Selling more to their existing clients.

    If you go into those shops and say "you have been doing some research on them during the last few days and I have a plan that will give them more exposure, more leads and YES more sales. Do you have some time for us to sit down and discuss. I really would like to help your business out with this". Just sit and wait for a response.

    When you start explaining the details you are speaking over them and they will shut you down. Speak to their ego and their goals (exposure, leads, sales).

    You will close a lot of business.

    Exactly FreeLeadsKING! Business owners don't care about websites, social media, or search engines. They don't have time for SEO, SEM, and CBS (Constant BullS***). All they are interested is bringing in more clients, and having those clients as returning customers. If you're selling services, your just a commodity. This means you're replacable.

    Stop being replacable by showing them how you can bring them more business, make their clients want to return for repeat business, and how you can lower their current advertising percentage. Once you do that, they sell themselves.

    Tereval asked me what services I offered. He didnt ask me how I would actually talk to my potential client. My plan is to put it in simple numbers.

    Cliffs:
    -I can put them above the competition (google places, fb, etc.)
    -Just bringing in (insert number here) clients a month, you will be paying for my service. Anything over that is raw profit.
    -My continual service cost is for me keeping you on the top of the competition. If you simply stop the updates and keeping up with technology, you will once again fall behind the competition.

    That is in a sense how I will talk to the client.

    Can you bring in X amount of clients each month? How can you prove that number? Are they paying clients, or are they interested leads? (there is a difference)

    As for talking about Google, Facebook, and the Etc listed. You need to get them on their own computer, and SHOW them how you are going to bring them clients. They don't understand the internet. They understand business. If you can't show them how the two are connected, your a salesman fighting a battle that you shouldn't be in. If you can show them how people search, and how you can put their advertising in front of those people, they will sell themselves.
