Text reminders for physicians and dentists...

I was wondering everyone's thoughts on this...

I made a couple flyers, one for doctors, and one for dentists, that say that they are losing money due to people not keeping appointments.

Then I give them the solution of sending out SMS appnt reminders so more people will keep appointments, and they will increase their revenue.

Anyone tried this? And if so, where do you suggest posting the flyers to get in front of doctors and dentists?

    I specifically targeted dentists for this exact purpose and actually didn't have much success at it. What I found is that most scheduling software already offers this to dentists. Usually it will include automatically sending out a postcard and then sending a text message the day before the appointment, and even day of.

    A lot of dentist offices aren't using this feature, but know they have it available so it makes it difficult to get appointments. The opportunity to focus on is price though. All the dentists I talked to said that sending a text was 10 cents a text on the low end all the way up to 50 cents a text. You can come in and offer a lower price which may be attractive. Unfortunately, the lower price might not outweigh the efficiencies of having the SMS service combined with the scheduling software they are already using.
