Does anyone know where I can get a good PLR report to give to my website customers that walks them through simple wordpress basics??

I don't have any, but would like to add my vote for this request. The only PLR I can find is hopelessly out of date

Any PLR manuals or videos for Wordpress versions 2.5 to 2.92 would be appreciated.

And of course, the OP would like latest 3.+ versions

    Best regards,
    Jan Gregory

Why not create your own? There is tons of material all over the internet. If not a report then create a "Hotsheet".

or you can go here A Beginner's Guide to WordPress Basics

In your own words write what you've read and what you know from experience.

    Peace and Success to you

You can also try those Flash based tutorials/videos for WordPress that most people get through WebHost companies and use it for your own business.

I am using this for all my clients, who don't want to buy monthly website maintenance package from us: Sign Up for WordPress 101 Tutorial Videos
It will cost you $19, but that's one-off payment. You can even use it for yourself

If you just want your clients to post new blogs, or simply update content on inner pages, I would simply recod a couple of short videos using Jing (free screen recording software - you can recod videos up to 5 mins length).

      Hope this will help

The problem with WordPress and instruction manuals is that they update so often that detailed instructions are hard to come by. At least ones which are in date. Live help is often the answer.

is why this looks so tempting to buy. Thank You!

Dominica do you happen to know if WP101 has Wordpress 3.2 videos?
I was only seeing 3.3 samples (I hate 3.3's new javascript tabs in left-sidebar).

They update videos on a regular basis... whih is good, but when the new version of Worpress cames up, they update/change the old ones

Rather than "train" WP 3, using the menu options and plugins like "adminimize" I actually try to idiot-proof the interface as much as possible before turning it over to a client.

So what do you actually do to idiot-proof the interface?

Remove almost all of the function bar - limit it to creating, editing, and posting. No other controls.

Thanks for all the posts! I too have found my WordPress clients are having trouble even remembering to do the little things like making sure they choose a category for each blog post. I like the idea of doing the Jing video's--but I'll also be looking at the other resources you all have posted. Thanks!

Thank you to all the posters with links to training. And Mr Barnhart has contributed the best idea for me at least. Remove all the clutter.

The link to the plugin he referred to is WordPress › Adminimize « WordPress Plugins

Any more plugins or advice on removing clutter and simplifying the admin panel for clients?

      Best Regards,
      Jan Gregory
