Your Offline Services Analytics

I'm curious if the numbers are the same across the board for this demographic.

As you market your services to offliners, what percent of your leads come in from:
  1. Phone book
  2. G. Places
  3. Video
  4. Word of mouth/referrals
  5. Getting off your butt and out into the real world, talking to actual human beings and braving the sunlight, despite your pale computer-den/home-office skin tone. (So scary for us all, I know!)
I'm mainly curious about the phone book and #2. I'm especially curious to see if offline business owners are mainly searching offline (phone book), or if we can sell them on the fact that they need to be online because most of them are finding us online (living proof). If you could also include your city size and how many leads you get from each, that would be awesome, since I'm also wondering if the data shows that rural towns are consistently higher in word of mouth and phone book.

Thanks in advance!
I'm sure there are many here who are looking forward to seeing your input.

Sincerely,
Eric Moore

I'd have to say getting off your but and taking action as the biggest. Thats one thing where the harder you work the more business you get no matter what (imo).

And lol at the paleskin thing. Luckily I'm italian and hate white skin so I'm always in the sun in one way or another. Whether its doing lawn work on the weekends or barbecuing.. I just can't stay indoors for too long or I lose my mind. =]

I'm located in the ST. Louis MO area... I get about 30 leads a month here but this isn't my best area.

My top 10 areas I get business from are:
    Orange County
    Sacramento
    San Diego
    San Francisco bay area
    Fresno
    Houston
    Dallas
    Atlanta
    Miami
    Las Vegas

Leads from phone book = 0%
Leads from google places = 0%
    Leads from video = 0%
    Leads from Referrals = 20%
    Leads from craigslist 10%
    Leads from cold calling 40%
    Leads from PPC 10%
    Leads from direct mail 5%
    Leads from email marketing 1%
    Leads from LinkedIn 1%
    Leads from twitter 1%
    Leads from facebook 2%
    Leads from SEO: 5%
    Leads from BNI: 1%
Leads from my local chamber 2%
Leads from road signs(not bill boards) 1%
leads from other random places = 1%

If anyone has the majority of their leads coming from the top 3 that is listed, then they have a very sad and pathetic marketing campaign.

I appreciate your feedback. I'm surprised PPC outperforms G Places.

    Why would leads coming from
    - Leads from phone book
    - Leads from google places
    - Leads from video

be sad and pathetic? Just cuz u dont get any leads that way, doesnt mean theyre 'pathetic' leads. Aside from the phone book, I got leads from the other two. Im a firm believer in practicing what I preach [sell] so our Google Places listing is optimized and is #1 and top5 G.Places result for a number of keywords we are targeting.
A lead is a lead, right? Doesnt mean where it comes from

Refferals are huge for us as well. But just cuz u it dont work for u, dont mean its broken brother

LOL, don't make assumptions because I probably have made more sales from what I call pathetic, than what you call great.

I have sales in the double digits generated from even the things I listed as 0%.

Also, learn to read a post before you put words in my mouth saying I called the leads pathetic. Literacy is a very great thing to have, I said if the MAJORITY of your leads came from those 3 areas, you have a sad and PATHETIC MARKETING CAMPAIGN. PLEASE point out where I said the LEADS were PATHETIC!

A marketing campaign is not the practice of doing one thing and getting all your sales from it. Do you understand that? Next time, read and try comprehending the full post. K? Thanks.
