Hello Friends,

Long time lurker, first time poster here. I have been recently been reading a lot of Lewis Howes' material on LinkedIn and started to take action about 3 weeks ago... Pretty sure I'm onto something because I have increased my monthly revenues from $250 to $950 in the last 3 weeks and I was just wondering is anyone else having massive luck on LinkedIn right now?

  • Yap linkedin sure is a great online marketing tool, I have tried their premium account for one month and jus recently cancelled it since I already got what I wanted, how about you have you tried their premium account? If eve you tried and wanted to cancel it you can check out this article that I used for cancelling my premium account How do I cancel my LinkedIn premium account?

    • Why would you pay for anything on that site? I don't see any benefit
  • The premium service lets you contact anyone you want via their inMail service - they don't have to be in your network or through a intro, you can see more profile details, and one of the best features is that you can see who has visited your profile as well.

The paid version is not necessary - but if you are a serious LI user - it's a drop in the bucket to what you can earn.

Probably 80% of my major accounts were through LI last year - it's my primary lead generation tool for my payment processing company.

    • Any strategies for lead generation you would like to share?
  • Yes, actually have an LI guide coming out as a WSO next week - drop me a PM and I will send you a review copy - it's not strictly about traditional lead generation but gives some good strategies for this aspect as well.

But the key with Linkedin is twofold: 1) making sure you optimize your profile so that you show up in searches and 2) joining the right groups and actually participating

Being successful on LI necessitates building a presence and credibility - not just hitting people up out of the blue. Many of us actually look at a person's profile before we accept a connection, so you want it to be professional and relevant to the person that you are contacting.

Those are my tips for success on LI....more to come!

    • Thank You Preeti,

I first started taking interest after reading your free WSO and just had to dive in a little deeper... the mind of a warrior

Without your initial spark I wouldn't be where I am today!

      Regards,

      Ryan

  • I'm a LION (LinkedIn Open Networker) and therefore, get a LOT of messages to my inbox about webinars, eBooks, business ops, etc...

I never check them, therefore, never PM anyone on the network.

The best thing I have done is join groups with relevant discussions about internet marketing, advertising, etc...and give my feedback.

I don't see any real benefit to paying for the premium service, since if I find a connection, I'll Google them until I find a way to contact them anyway. But I am more about "pulling" clients into my funnel than pushing them to use my services.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I don't have any luck with LinkedIn yet. Actually I never try to get something from it, I don't know why! My belief was, it does not work. But now you make me think again for this.
  • Hi NiceGuy,

Just sent you a PM. And yes, Preeti rocks!

  • Linkedin is a very good way to get clients fast if you are offering the right service!

Out of all my methods I use, Linkedin as been the most profitable in a short amount of time.

    • You are inspiring me. Are there any LinkedIn gurus or marketers out there who offer consulting service? If you are one or know of any, please PM me or place a link on your post. I am interested in working with you.

  • Yesterday I was bored and decided to try something out with LinkedIn. SO, basically I went on fiverr and found a gig which provides 1000 emails of Linkedin users whom we can invite to connect with. Bought it and sent out all these invitations. THEN, once someone accepted my invitation I replied to them with a message like this:

    subject: hey Don
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Don, I'm glad you accepted my invitation to connect with you on LinkedIn. Hope we'll be networking succesfully. Let me know if you need a specialist in any web-related projects or maybe you know someone who can benefit from my expertise.
    Kind regards, maricelu

SO, after replying with this message to like 30 users who accepted me, I still get different kind of replies, of course, many of them thank me for my message and they say will consider me but also I got a very interested guy who wants to chat with me today regarding my services.

I did this only to 1/6 of my accepted invitations, imagine you do this with all of them.

Good luck and TAKE ACTION. (know it's hard but we will get nowhere if we just wait for the success to come)

  • Absolutely! LinkedIn is an amazing source of potential clients, we use it all the time, and we have somehow perfected our marketing strategies, so yeah, LI can be an excelent way to make money if you are intelligent.
  • Did you know you can message anyone in a group on Linkedin you are a member of? When you go to the group members section it allows you to directly message anyone in the group. You do not then have to "connect" with a person in the group in order to message them. When you send them a LI message, they just assume you have a premium account with more messaging privileges. Give it a try some time.

    Hope my tip helps,

    • We know this, but did you ever heard of personal approach? If you have recepient's name in the subject then you already get their attention.
  • I think Dan Lew has an interesting linkedin software coming out later this week too, will be interesting to see what it does.
  • Create your own group and start inviting members to join using your personalized message!
