Which LinkedIn Groups should I join?

I have an offline service where I provide free web design services (charge for hosting and upsell additional services later0

I'm wanting to build relationships on LinkedIn, especially with people who have access to groups of small to medium sized businesses. Chamber of Commerce for example.

If you were in the same position, what kind of groups would you join, keeping in mind that your initial service is providing professional business websites at no costs.

Thanks for any help.

  • imsolutionsgroup has a WSO offering free Linkedin training. You should check it out.

I hope it's okay for me to plug his WSO here: http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...uaranteed.html

  • I would simply start by joining groups that my friends and associates are already in and then expanding that web out to reach those other associated groups. That way there is a level of connection between all the people and groups that you get to join.

It might seem simple enough but sometimes the best things are the simplest ones. ; )

  • I would focus on local business groups by most populated cites first. There are many networking/LinkedIn groups for each major city. Good luck

    • Agreed. You should join your local business groups to start with.

Advice: Don't go making your offer right away though. Make some friends first, contribute a bit, leave some value, answer some questions.

Then when people start to see you around, you can explain that you are offering free website design services.

  • I had joined my local chamber and tried participating in the Linkedin Group. Unfortunately, there were only one or two people contributing, so it felt like a ghost town. Very disappointing experience =\
