How to sell web design on Craigslist using Wordpress Image Ads

Just make a Wordpress page like normal, upload your full page image that you made in Photoshop and link it to your squeeze page. Make sure to have a strong call to action with a "click here" link (even though the whole image is clickable). Then just copy and paste that code into your Craigslist ad. This is the easiest and fastest way I have found to make clickable image ads for CL.

I have done this to promote everything from CPA offers to web design and if you create compelling images (just one image per ad, no text required because your image will have sales text) then you will see a noticeable increase in response.

When advertising for web design post in the services section and sell low cost websites with a screenshot of a Wordpress template that can be cloned.

Make a few sales then hire odesk people in your country (IP's in different countries may or may not be ghosted) and pay them to post your ads. I have had little success using Fiverr for some reason. Odesk is more expensive but the results are almost always profitable.

If you want to just build an easy residual income then offer free websites and charge for hosting/support/maintenance. Never just for hosting alone because they know they can get that cheap. You have to offer ongoing support. If they become a PIA then drop them.

This method also gives you plenty of upsell opportunity. I will normally sell my "premium" web design services to about half of my free or low cost website customers.

I will be testing this method with the headline and sales message found today in this thread:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/offline-...5k-2-days.html

Finding good headlines has been a challenge sometimes but the info in that thread is too good to pass up!

I will follow up with results.

Man, I have tried this several times, not for web design but sales training. I have great images & copy, but clickthrus are few. I think I have 4 or 5 of these.

I suspect the issue is the category (though nobody seems to look in 'lessons', and 'small business ads' isn't the right one, either). I've tried targeting both business owner and salesperon... no luck at all there.

    EDIT:

    Anyone have suggestions?

Yep, you need to split test until you find one that pulls just a little then duplicate it using outsourcers. But make different image links so they are not all the same (I use several different sites and the pages are never made public on the sites) and make sure to make them different sizes too. Just slightly, not noticeable to the naked eye.

yeah, drop it in the jobs section.

you will get flagged, but you will do good before it happens.

now with that said, i haven't messed with cl in a yr , maybe a yr and a half
but i was running in every job section i could post in
      and the results were incredible.

O, one more thing i did different then others
i set up 3 auto responders, based on 6-15-20 min
      ( desktop , with filter triggers )

it was all made to look like real time conversation, then
when it they got to a certain point, i had another trigger set up
so i would know they were ready to be talked to in real time.
      i.e ready to be sold

Wow, autoresponders...so just take them to a form on a landing page! Great idea.

        Thanks Ken.

          Your welcome

That is not what i meant, altho that would prob work.

each ad posted we used a different email, and then we popped 3 the account,
and that would set off the timers, and auto responders , based on the filters.

its a pain to set up at first, but once you have it set up, its pretty much set
and forget, and the amount of high quality leads that keep coming thru is just retarded.

Yea...Like Jason, I've tried this too to no avail.

When I post in "Small Biz" or "Computer" I get flagged as spam from pieces of *&*$ that think they should own CL.

I've tried a few other sections and haven't had anything but spam emails. But many people swear by Craigslist...I just swear when I read the grammar people use on it.

CL can be frustrating but then again, so can Adwords, until you get a profitable campaign set up. At least with CL you can do all your testing free.

I would recommend setting up an ad for just one section. For example, Labor & Moving, and stick to that. Don't overdo the ads from your personal account. You run the ad then wait until CL gives you the option to renew it. One good ad in one city can bring you a couple clients a month. So you make money and then outsource more ads in other cites. Always keep it low key and don't put too many out under any account, at least that has been my experience with CL and I don't pretend to be an expert. I just advertise there a lot.

You know the movers are checking out each other's ads, so this is the perfect opportunity to get your website offer in front of them.

I think Craigslist is not good for selling products. It's good for spam and build link only.
