Hi,

As this is the offline section anyone any ideas how to garner high networth investor leads? Not people who are interested in work form home opportunities but looking to invest big money in stocks, funds, alternative investments etc.?

I am leaning more towards getting to mix with them in their circles and word of mouth mainly but the Net must be useful as well?
Thank you

Advertise in The Wall Street Journal, Investors Business Daily or a magazine that people of means read.

Most wealthy people don't surf the net.
My wife works at an investment house and their marketing dept. uses billboards on busy roadways to advertise.
    (p.s. their marketing dept. sucks)
Online advertising to these people should be where they get news, and stock prices etc.... (see above)

If you were wealthy, where would someone advertise to you?

On average these aren't the kind of people I am seeking either. It's the more sophisticated, savvy investors I need (people who invest in V.C. hedge funds, etc) not your "I.B.D." investor.

    Thank you any way.

Investing in VC HEdge Funds doesn't make you a sophisticated savvy investor. It just means you had a few extra bucks and somebody talked you into investing in their fund. You want, I think, the guy who started the fund. Now he has the money.

Why not contact your local V.C. chapter and talk to them. They might like your idea. I don't know if the UK has biz incubators but if they do ask the grunts who work there for the names of investors.

One source I used here was a list compiler. They gave me net worth individuals of at least one million dollars. Talking to them was another story but I had the list.

      Good luck,

      Tom

What I've done is do a search on hedge fund investing and use Google's adwords tool.

This should give you ideas on where this style of investor may be going.
        (porn sites.....)

There will be forums or blogs where you will see banner ads of whatever you are offering and this should give you the ideas you need to take what you have to offer to task.

        Think outside of the box....

Go see them where they play.

Golf clubs, athletic clubs, yacht clubs, restaurants etc.

Hold webinars (make them pay something to get in, maybe $97) to explain what you do and warm 'em up.

Now you need marketing material that aligns YOU with THE RICH....a natural fit. Dress the webinar and material up...a "secret meeting". There was a print newsletter called Tai-Pan years ago that began with the words: "You weren't supposed to know about Tai-Pan." Brilliant.

There are also Press Release services like PRWeb's financial release, targeted at these types of people.

I recommend you read some of the books by Thomas Stanley like the Millionaire Next Door or the Millionaire Mind to get an idea of people who really have money to invest - if you can pry it out of their hands....

    good luck,

Go to a neighborhood where wealthy people live. Locate a dentist or some other business where with a waiting room. Check out the magazines. If you're in the Chicago area, you'd go to Winnetka, for instance, and the dentist who caters to the super rich will have a few Sheridan Road issues...

Makes for a very interesting read.

Online at: Sheridan Road Magazine Welcomes You!

They charge, if memory serves, from $1,200 and up...

You could also locate some publications for hobbies that are expensive, for air plane owners, yacht owners, etc. They'd have them in print and online.

Google YOUR City + financial advisors, get the address of the one that strikes you as catering to the wealthier wealthies (i.e., they don't bother with annuities, bluff your way into getting an appointment, arrive early, check out what they read. At the same time, find out where they advertise or where they're mentioned (might be they only have publications in their office where they get mentioned or where they advertise).

Make friends with a realtor; get him or her to let you use the mls. Set the filter for closed and $2,000,000+ (or whatever number is wealthy for you), copy down the addresses, send them mail.

Can't help you with the net.

Mailing lists for HNW people are extremely easy to procure.

Many people have a misconception that high net worth people are a lot different than the rest of the population. Unfortunately, the reality is they really aren't. You'd be surprised how ordinary HNW people can seem.

One place that you can start is to look for Real Estate Investment Groups

Not Real Estate Agents, but actual investors who are looking to invest in real estate.

The reason I suggest this, is because a bit part of what we are taught (I am a part of one in Canada by the way) is that if we don't have the money to invest in Real Estate, or if we don't have the credit someone else does.

So we are taught how to network and find these people who have money to invest and to get them to invest with us in Real Estate instead of stocks, bonds, etc.

But anyway, the reason I say you should check out a Real Estate Investment Group is because alot of them will have connections with Venture Capitalists, bankers, lawyers, accountants, mortgage brokers, etc who are potentially all wealthy themselves, and who all have their own connections and their own networks.

So if you can meet up with some of them, do some offline consulting for some of them helping them buy or sell homes, attract quality tenants through online marketing, or do some online marketing for the companies managing their real estate investments, and you develop trust with some of them, they will start sharing you around with their other wealthy friends.

Try typing in "Real Estate Investment Group+Your city" or +Your country.
