Qns About Hiring Telemarketer

Hi!

I would like to know if you guys hire the appointment setter to do set appointments only or do you also use them to try to sell the business owner a package too?

Would it be best to let the telemarketer do appointment setting and telesales or only appointment setting?

Also would you trust the outsourcer with the customer's credit card details?

Thanks!

I used to hire them to set appointments and sort through prospects to find any that qualified as leads.

    Keep it simple.

Hiring an appointment setter is a great idea. They are more experienced than you so they are capable of setting more appointments. It is best that you do the tele-selling part since you will be more knowledgeable on that and also you can make immediate changes based on you conversation.

Appointment Setters don't do sales...or they would be called telemarketers or salespeople

Hire to do the job you need. If you can sell your own product, then use an appointment setter to get you in front of the customer, then you sell your product.

Seems like you could help me out...answer my questions on this thread?

There are Companies that offer both type of services. We have found a few of the oversea groups do not like taking CC info but we were able to work around that using a secure payment. A few years ago we were advised by our attorney when we first started out 3 years ago if anyone is taking payment info for your company you likely can be held liable for that info if something bad happen with the person you hire or sub-contact with you hire.
We have tried both. Both have worked and both had issues . Number one make sure you get reports we have hired from O desk, to freelancer and other boards still using two groups now . they must provide call logs of some type to show number of calls made ,tracking to show they are doing they work they are being paid to do if you are paying any type of hourly wage even if you are doing commissions only as most likely you would need to provide the leads . So accountability of the employee or contacting firm is important
As to which model that would work best for you depends on your services are you doing local that you can do a presentation? Or have a sale force that can ? High ticket item will need a strong closer. If you are giving away something to open the door then maybe a one call close something you can look for a caller to make.

First, like most here I would suggest you do some calling yourself so you know what to expect , ratios, Q&A etc of course that again depends on your product or services you are offering.

I just messaged you but have a lot to say I guess.

First your question about credit card info: You are the business owner and ultimately responsible for all information your callers obtain. In most out sourced situations you have very little information on the back ground of the person calling for you. It's too big a risk, PERIOD.

Secondly, most experienced or worth while callers have multiple accounts. They will never know your business as well as you do. If you don't feel capable of making the sale or have the time then you need to hire a dedicated sales person that you have a lot of control over. You need to train that sales person and then have a lot of trust in them.

Finally, never trust a jack of all trades because they are a master of none. Appointment setters aren't sales people and most sales people don't have the wherewithal to do appointment setting. Hire people with the skill set you need. To start you may only need an appointment setter until the volume of appointments requires a sales person. Let your closed sales pay for all the above so that you have less capital involved and a larger ROI.

It depends on the telemarketer. Check to see if they have an expertise in appointment setting and telesales. However, if you're hiring appointment setters it is best IMO to leave it at that. Your salespeople can handle the sales talk as they will be more knowledgeable in all the aspects of your company and what your business has to offer.

This has been discussed many times before (Go Search button!).

Do NOT trust outsourcers with credit card info. Have them transfer the call to you to take payment.

As far as selling vs appointment setting, it comes down to the skill of the individual caller.
