Help with Google Local/Places

Hi all...I am a small business owner with a handful of locations. My question revolves around google local...places...whatever it's called. Getting in the top three location spots is very important and provides me with quite a few new clients. How should I go about google local. Should I:

A: Have one website with the different location pages which would not be my index page.

B: Have separate websites for each location and optimize the index page along with the rest of the website.

Thank you for your time. Any other helpful tips would be great!

Mike

Do this. Then, each google plus local page should be linked to the specific page that is dedicated to that specific address. These are REAL physical locations for each, right? each should have its own local phone number, dont use the same phone for each

What's the reason having different local pages but with the same number isn't a good idea, Chad?

Right, what Kung Fu said. If you use the same phone for each, the local algorithm will start to confuse your listings, sometimes accidentally merging them, or they just rank poorly because google sees conflicting, confusing information and can't tell the listings apart.

Create Google Places/Local and Google Branded Page for each location. If all the same brand of business, then create one Google Band Page and list all locations.

Google + Local best practices and Google Guidelines ask for a local number. You want to keep them unique to avoid duplicate and merged listings. NAP (name address phone) info needs to be as unique as possible.
