Lead Generation Site Questions?

I just had a few questions regarding what to do withe leads once they are received. I want to sell the leads - $$$ per lead -

So do I sell the leads by just referring the contact information to the customer as "a lead is a lead" or Do I contact the lead by phone or email and "screen" the lead as to size of job, etc.

If it is the latter, how do I explain why I am calling and not making the appointment or with specific information regarding the service?

I understand the "screened method" would be the best for the leads customer, just having problem with explanations and how one would turn down a small job the lead customer wouldn't want.

Was thinking of finding those that want bigger jobs and those that want smaller jobs - just want to simplify the process.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You should line up business owners to buy the leads as they come in rather than collect then sell them. Only fresh leads have value. Old leads lose value fast. After 48 hours the value drastically drops.

You want to be as specific as possible. For example in the dental niche I ask specifically which service the person is looking for, what time they want to be called at, etc. Be as specific as possible.

Just collect the basic information and let the lead know that so and so will be following up with them to schedule an official appointment. Lead agrees to wait for the follow up, and you provide your client with the leads on a daily basis. Sometimes calling the client immediately or emailing over the information immediately.

I suggest targeting your lead gen sites.
Having a tracking number put on the site that gets forwarded to the business owner.
You record the calls and get paid for any calls that last anywhere from 30-90 seconds.
Amount of time will vary by the type of niche.

Watch a webinar for Joe Troyer's lead gen system and it should give you a better understanding of how to set things up. But, that's it in a nutshell.

This will explain it. I am not saying you need to buy his course, but you should look at the model.
I don't think you should take the calls and then forward them to a business owner.
I think you should send the lead directly to the business, and get paid per call.

You can do everything he describes without his system.

We've built an elegant solution for this. All it takes is an e-mail address and a list of phone numbers:
Real time reporting, etc. Our legal lead gen clients are crushing it.

      Thanks for the info...

I was wondering what reason I give to the leads for calling, since I won't have pricing info or setting up the appointment. Verifying info and rep will call later?

Not sure of the legal issues but, what if you field the call as over seeing the job and the person you give the lead to royally screws up, what will be your responsibility at that point?

Good question. That question was attacked head on during our product development.

As far as why you're not scheduling an appointment, thats super easy. Just tell them "I have to check with our scheduling department and will have someone else call you within the next hour".

So is this the best way to handle these lead gen sites or would it be better to just have one business on board and forward the calls to them and then charge them per call they get at the end of the month with an invoice? Why not just take yourself out of the equation and let the system do it's thing and you collect your payment each month when you show them the tracking info from your call tracking service on how many calls they got from your services?
