Telemarketing - Getting Past the Gatekeeper?

OFFLINE MARKETING

I do lead generation for health insurance agents. Despite only targeting businesses with 1-4 employees, a big obstacle for my group of telemarketers is getting past gatekeepers.

What are your strategies for blowing past gatekeepers and talking to who you want to talk to?

A small tweak in my script here would mean the world at the moment.

Few Basic Tips:

Don't sound to corporate over the phone -
Remain clam & speak to them like a "Human" -
Don't (Pitch) or get rite into the purpose of the call -

Make sure they are asking for the person they need to talk to, or describing who they need to talk to. In a 1-4 business, they can simply say "This is Mary, I'm calling about your website, who in the office handles updating that?"

Don't let them simply read off the script to whoever answers, because she/he will immediately flag them and they won't get through.

Remind your people, they are talking to humans that like to be treated like humans in this scripted world . . .
