Web Design + Local Ads Success

Hey,
I just thought I would share some mild success. I have been recently working on starting a web development firm and am still working on our website so I decided to run some CL ads in my local area with a simple image that included:

Clean header logo
Bullet point incentives eg. Price, local, responsive
Phone number and email in a big clear font
Along with a killer CL post title
SEO word bank

I have closed two sales in under 24 hours. This has been my first bit of any type of advertising for this venture and needless to say I'm pretty excited. I plan on increasing classified and postings and adding more sales funnels and then scale scale scale!!!

Congrats on your success, closing 2 sales in 24 hours after posting the ad is a great start! Let that be your motivation to continue, and as you said "scale, scale, scale".

Just make sure you create other lead sources as well. The CL post maybe working now, but CL tends to be frequented by the same people over and over, so the ad could lose effectiveness.

That doesn't mean, if it does, you should get disheartened. You just need other sources of traffic too.

      James,
For the web design niche what are some of the best lead sources? I have been debating PPC to a squeeze page to build a list. Are solo ads effective in this niche and obviously organic SEO. What are the best ways to target locally?

You can answer this yourself by knowing who your target market is.

Are they local? Are they industry specific?

Also be thinking about what you bring to the table that no one else does. What's your value proposition?

You don't want to be another 'me too' web developer. Stand out.

That's fantastic! Which cities did you post in and do you mind sharing a link to the ad

Is targeting one specific industry seeking web development services a viable option? I feel like I'm missing out on sales by excluding other industries?
