Good books on the fast-food business?

I'm looking into creating a restaurant-chain and are looking for good books on the subject.

Anything that has to do with fast-food or franchising is of interest (not franchising as in starting a franchised business, but in getting others to open franchises from your idea!)

    I don't have specifics but basically you will want anything on Ray Kroc. You will also want to study the model he used. And IMO compare it to the model that Subway used.

    No need to reinvent anything but one might be better than the other for your idea.

    Also as a side note you don't start off to create a restaurant chain. You start off to create a single restaurant. The chain can only be sold in the beginning based on the original company owned store(s).

    Now there are exceptions to every rule. But I believe that is the right approach to have. Do you currently have a successful location?

      Yes, of course I will not start a chain right off the bat. But that's my plan. Start with one restaurant, test and prove the concept for a year or two, then either expand by getting more locations or getting franchises.

    Also look at Tom & Chee.
    They sell grilled cheese and tomato soup.
    They were on Man vs. Food, and also Shark Tank.
    Since Shark Tank, they have had 2,000+ inquiries for franchises.
    Figure out what they did to sell a grilled cheese for $5....
