A Few Questions About Email Marketing For Businesses

I wondered when you manage email marketing for offline business, what exactly do you do for them?

SMS usually means, sending out special offers/coupons etc to the customers who have signed up. But is this the same for email marketing.

I have seen in some other threads newsletters mentioned, but I would not know what to write about each month for each business. Do you get the business to come up with content?

Hope you don't mind all the questions, just want to get an idea of what is involved.

I would recommend the newsletter route.

The reson why you can shamelessly just send out offers for SMS is because it already has such a high open rate. And because you don't have enough space to give value in other forms.

However, when it comes to email, you need to train the subscribers into habitually opening your (or your clients') emails. If you don't want to do it yourself, you can use someone on elance, or even fiverr.

Get them to write a reasonable article each month, and then you, as the marketing expert can weave a relevant offer into it as you see fit.

If you are going to be writing it yourself. Depending on the niche, you can probably just re-jig some PLR stuff. But make sure you add enough value, to make the subscribers want to continue opening the emails.
