A question about Bing ads

Hello everyone,

I started a campaign on Bing to promote Clickbank offer a few days ago..
The campaign got 8 clicks for $10
Is that normal?
I tried to start the same campaign with cheaper keywords but it disapproved..
Can anyone who make profit with Bing can give me any advice? What amount of clicks I need to make 1 sale?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure what's considered normal for your niche, but if you have the time, you should read this thread http://www.warriorforum.com/pay-per-...-bing-ppc.html

It's a thread started by Solarwarrior and it's very helpful.

You are spending way way way too much per click.

I recommend starting a campaign where your bidding of keywords is a helluva lot less.

      Hello Warriors.

I am new to Clickbank and to this forum, after i read some threads here , i decided to take action, and i started a campaign yesterday , i started with 5.00$ daily budget just for test, and so far i got 8 clicks and 902 impressions, already 4 of those clicks show no conversion, the other ones hasn't show up anything yet.

Could you please just tell us some hints and tips to improve the campaign.

the product is about health and it's really cheap but probably the offer in the website is not very attractive to consumers.

      Thank you all.

That sounds like a high CPC that needs to be optimized. I would suggest segmenting your ads to a few keywords per group as possible.

You want to nail down the cheaper keywords that still can convert for you.

About disapprovals, if you truly had your ads stopped by bing it appears they have taken a strong stance lately against different niches and/or low bids. I recently had one of my high performing sites basically booted from Bing with no real reason whatsoever. A good alternative is FB advertising, I have sold Clickbank products via FB ads without issue and certainly for less than the $1+ clicks you were charged for.

As for the amount of clicks that it takes to make a sale, it can really happen with just one click! All mastership aside it really depends on a multitude of factors (landing page, ad copy, custom mood, expectations, value, etc etc) but you'll have to experiment with your particular CB offer to find out what works best.

    Good luck

Actually my current Bid is 0.3 cents, because the product cost only 10$, maybe Do I need always look for higher cost products because if at least I make one sell, will be worth it than a product where maybe i need to sell 100's.

        hi Clavier,

for the notations pls read my previous msg on this topic, you will need it now:

In PPC, everything is about relevancy: That is you have to tie your ad copy, keywords and landing page (this may be anything: opt-in page, Sales page, webpage etc.) in an efficient way. This is not an easy task and has many components.

In your case, your CTR is below 0.1% that is very low. Generally speaking, anything below 1% is not good. When you have this small CTR, the first thing you have to look is the relevancy of your ad copies to your keywords. They dont match up. First check these and modify and test and test.

Another reason may be a very low bid for your keywords, look at your average pos. If this is over 8 then your ads are not displayed on the first page and this reduces the likelihood of being clicked.

        My suggestion:
Test all parameters , get at least 100 clicks and put your screenshot here so that i can help better.

        i hope this helps

        Koksal

    hey MetallicaFan,

Setting aside everything, i wanna do some maths for you here:

    Some notations first:

CTR: Click-Through-Rate: Unique clicks / Impressions
    CPC: Cost Per Click
CR: Conversion Rate of Sales Page you are directing..
    Price: Price of Clickbank product...
    ROI: Return Of Investment

In your case you are almost bidding for 1 USD. Let's say that CR of your product is 1%. This means that you will need 100 clicks for a sale. That makes 100 USD. If your earning for this sale is below 100 USD, then you have a negative ROI and this does not make sense. Since this is a Clickbank offer, most probably it is below 32 USD. So what? You need to do the reverse-math and find the max bid related to your offer and CR expectation of the product (this depends on many factors, i usually look at the vendor's claim and get 50% of it to get a rough figure at least)

    i.e: CR= %1 Price = 32 Then CPC should be < 32 cent to have a positive ROI
CR=%0.5 Price=32 Then CPC should be < 16 cent to have a positive ROI

    My suggestions:
First do some maths and set your max bid to have a positive ROI.
Then find a good tutorial to achieve the max relevancy of keywords, ad copies and landing pages with low CPC and Pos. and max CTR.

    i hope this helps

    Koksal.

      Hi MetallicaFan,

Koksal gave you some decent advice, please allow me to add to it some important details.

First, do not even think of relying on the merchants claim of conversion rates. Conversion rates do not mean anything if you do not know which segment the rate applies to, and they never tell you that, I'd even dare to say most have no idea what a market segment is.

Market segmentation is an essential concept of any marketing plan. In PPC search marketing, keywords are used to delineate a market segment. Each keyword will have it's own unique Click-Through-Rate and it's own unique conversion rate. That is the only conversion rate you should use to make data-driven decisions with, the average conversion rate is not relevant, only specific conversion rates for specific keywords.

No one is likely to provide this data to you in advance, in nearly every campaign you will need to determine the keyword conversion rate using your own testing data.

Once you start running some test campaigns, you will quickly realize that the conversion rates will vary greatly from one keyword to the next. This is good thing, because you can use that information to optimize your campaign. It is only after you have this data that you can make informed decisions about the appropriate bids for your keywords.

Another good thing is that you do not need to wait for your campaign to start generating conversions before you begin the process of optimizing your campaign. As soon as you start getting impressions on your ads you are getting data that informs you of the relevance of your keywords and ads.

If CTR is low then you have one of the following issues:
      • Keywords that are too general or ambiguous
      • Keywords that have little or no commercial intent
      • Ad creatives that are not very compelling or otherwise irrelevant.

Generally, keywords that have higher relevancy will have higher CTR. Keywords that lack specificity, or lack commercial intent, will usually have below average CTR. Naturally the relevancy of your ad text influences CTR with respect to the aforementioned keyword relevancy.

Remove irrelevant keywords from your keyword list and add negative match keywords to block irrelevant search terms from triggering your ads. Use only keywords with high commercial intent. Write ads that are extremely relevant to the keywords in the ad group, and keep the ad group keyword list short and focused on a single, very specific, keyword topic.

Write several ads for each ad group, each ad text focused on a different selling point, to learn which selling point your targeted audience will respond to the most.

Once your campaigns are running, wait until you have enough data to be actionable, and then begin culling keywords, and ads, that have poor CTR. Keep only the keywords and ads, with higher than average CTR running in your campaign, as those are the keywords (and ads) most likely to get a conversion. After you gather enough conversions to be actionable, begin adjusting your bids based on the calculation that Koksal gave you in his reply.

Sounds very abnormal. All what advices you have been given are useful, but the ads need to be optimised to receive 0.05 per click and profiting you.
