Need Advice on switching from Blogger to WP
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Since Blogger is no longer using FTP I purchased Darrin McLaughlin's WP Upgrade. Now I have 2 blogs on my site, Should I leave the old blog up?
And what about Dustin Cannon's co-op that he posts to my old blog, will he still be able to post those articles, should I email or call the co-op to let them know I have a new blog? Has anyone else gone threw this process? Just looking for a little advice.

Yes leave the old blog up, those posts are out there
in cyber space and will bring you traffic for years to
come.

As far as your other question I would say to contact
Dustin's help desk about the article upload service.

Cheers,

Bill Shultz

Bill, how do you get the extra info at the bottom of your post?

Simply go to your User Control Panel and update your Signature File.

If you have any questions about how to do this, just ask.

Take Care,

Alan

It's dam good advice - I had migrated also and was like " Why do I need duplicate content and two blogs... so i killed it.

And BOY do I wish I had that old blog sending traffic to me now.

How do you have two blogs running on one site? Are you using a sub-folder to do that? I'm interested because I'm considering moving to wp.

Yes, just create a new sub-folder, naming it whatever you want it to be. Then, install the WP blog in that new sub-folder.

That's exactly what I did when I moved to WP. I still have my old Blogger blog here: Alan's Home Money Making Blog. All I did was create a new sub-folder for my WP blog here: Work From Home Resources.

Thanks, I'll work on that tomorrow; sounds easier than I thought.

Yes, this is what I did, I leave my old blogger blog in my server. (never delete it as there are still links pointing back to my old blogger)

My old blogger will still exist unless I delete the folder. Then I posted a last post saying my new blog will be at (new address)

I created a WP blog. Transferred all my blogger post to this new WP blog and continue blogging from there.

If you using HostGator, you can try Fantisco to install your WP blog.

Hope that helps,
Erica
