No, the usage of "amazon" or any other trademarks of Amazon for domain names and subdomains is explicitly forbidden in the terms, including subdomains on any freehosts.

I doubt it, but instead of solving this via the robots.txt, it isn't rocket science to block certain bots via .htaccess instead.

The advantage: It's a real block, no matter if the bots respect...

Honestly, this won't happen. Quality links already have become more important over the years, but mass automation will always work in one way or another. The guys at Google are more clever than 99%...

My experience as well. If it takes longer than a month the link is probably on an orphan or very badly linked page, so pinging the page with your link on it or linking it from somewhere else can...
