There is one thing I love about hostgator - their Support. The support team is always available in case anything happens to your host. I have always used hostgator and would highly recommend them.

I like Go daddy for their domains and Hostgator for my host. Gator service has always helped me out when I had technical questions during set up. I have never had any problems with my sites.

Wherever you decide to buy domains from, don't buy your hosting from the same people! Keep the domain registrar and the hosting company two separate companies.
