Hello Fellow Warriors,

I was wondering if someone out there has some experience with DL Guard...

I set up a members area for a single product...

I created a folder on my server for my digital product

uploaded my product to the folder

but when I put the url to the file in my browser, I can download the file without any protection

now I know that I am probably overlooking something pretty simple here

my download page is protected, but my download product is not...

?????????????????????????

can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

The downloadable files are usually never actually protected. You will need to do 1 of 2 things:

    1. Name the file something completely obscure, so no one would ever think of the file name and download it directly
    2. Upload the file ABOVE THE ROOT of the domain

I know that may sound vague, however, it is 3 am here and I am beat. I have been using DLG successfully for quite a while now and have even created some 3rd party scripts to work along side DLG, so I know it rather well...

If you would like further assistance, please feel free to PM me and I will reply in the morning (later in the morning that is)...

    Good luck...
