What do you guys think of this framework? Pros? Cons? i get mixed feelings online when reading articles. As a PHP coder for 8 years it always breaks my heart a bit to go with a framework when I have created my own, but id like to keep options open.

I have yet to see a framework that does exactly what I want, exactly how I want it done, and done simply enough that I can fix it 6 months later when something breaks.

Well, I have yet to see one I didn't build.

Well when it comes down to avoiding spaghetti code, I think frameworks work fine. If you are familiar with MVC and want to have clean code I recommend you have a look at the Codeigniter. It is pretty clean and easy to get used to. Yi looks good too but personally I haven't used it to a point which I can compare it. But at the end of the day using a framework makes it all more readable and in control and most importantly standard for other users of the framework to understand.

I haven't seen this one until now. I've been recently looking at CodeIgnitor but haven't gotten around to using it. I'll put Yii on my list to investigate. So far I've been using Drupal which I'm satisfied with but their methodology for releasing a major release requires all modules to upgrade to a new API with each release which can be cumbersome for the small part time user like me.

A friend of mine started using it a few months ago and said it is very cool and very helpful. Also easy to work with and saves a lot of time. I am more familiar with my own custom code and Code Igniter(from time to time) and not thinking about learning a new Framework. Simply don't have the time, gotta work :-) but i guess it would be worth it for someone that has enough time..
