A YouTube video no longer ranking??

I have one of the oldest videos on Youtube for this keyword
and my video also has the highest number of views for
that keyword, BUT it doesn't even appear on the first
3 pages in the search results.

It used to be the #1 result but no longer ranks. I've not
done any funny business--I've done really nothing to
promote that video.

Anyone with an idea about what is happening here?

    YouTube is rolling out their new update and want to be closer to how Google ranks their stuff.

    So if you keyword stuff or anything that would get a website penalized, that would hurt your
    YouTube video as well.

      That's the enigma. I didn't use any tricks to rank and the video that is now
      #1 has basically the same length of description and once commented on
      my video to get "link juice". So I guess the ranking is still settling in to
      the new algorithm.

    Thousands of videos are being uploaded to Youtube daily. So the competition is getting higher and higher each day, probably we need to focus more on how we can improve our video marketing instead of looking back on what we did before.

    Do you mean the top ranking is on Youtube or Google?

    If Google, you need to add more backlinks. If Youtube, you need to get more views (make sure real human 100% only, instead of the bot), more subscibers, comments and likes.

      MY video has the highest number of views for that keyword, so I know it cannot be
      views. I also have about the same amount of comments. And the views are all
      live views, not bots. the video is one of the oldest for that category.

    Did you check if someone flags your video?
    You can also try to update your descriptions or tags to see if it helps.

    Ignore the comments that says Google is syncing YT to how they display their search results, they have no idea how to rank.

    Read my thread about YT, its old as hell now but still a lot better than some of the advice given in this thread.

    Possibly a google algo change hit your video. Or possibly some of your competition just passed you. Anyways you should really have a link maintenance program just for cases like this.
