Do Spammy Addon Domains Hurt Main Domain

Well, I have Hostgator baby plan.
I have primary domain which is ranking well. According to me it's my asset.

I also have an event blog as addon domain under publichtml/www.addon.com

I am buying backlinks for the addon domain.

As both the above domains are on the same server and same whois, does Google penalize my main domain, because of the addon domain?

The addon domain is just a event blog. It exists just for 2 months.
If so, how can I prevent?

If you are doing all sorts of blackhat techniques to try to rank your addon domain in Google, then it's not good for your main domain at all, Google sees that it's part of your main domain.

There is a way to do backlinking in a smart way that will not get you in any trouble with Google and build you also social signals to rank your content. PM me if you need any help with that.

    Hope that helps,

    Vitaliy

This is completely wrong. Your addon domain is a totally different domain. Meaning it doesn't share any type of files with your main domain. Silly..

Don't sweat it. The things you do on or to your addon domain won't affect your primary domain.
