Moz Local + Yahoo Localworks?

Does anyone foresee any problem using BOTH Moz Local and Yahoo Localworks? They distribute to some of the same sites and I was wondering is there would be an overlap and/or turf war issue?

For the price of yahoo alone ($359.88/year) couldn't you outsource the same directory listings so they never get cancelled, plus you'll have all the login info per directory for any future edits If needed?

    • Isn't using Yahoo outsourcing? I don't want some random ESL person doing my listings. And I don't have time to do it, so Moz and Yahoo seem like perfectly acceptable alternatives. Plus, Yahoo even gives you a nice report you can tweak into a white labeled masterpiece to give to your clients.

Also, with both Moz and Yahoo, you have a dashboard to make any changes you need.

  • Have you thought about using Bright Local and their citation blaster or whatever it's called now?

Using multiple services for this could indeed end up with an overlap. This is a problem when it comes to building citations and if one service for some reason formats NAP differently than the other, even if it is just a difference between www and non www, I've seen issues in conflicting citations.

Thankfully, right now citations are holding much less weight than they were about a year or 2 ago. Usually if you focus on the 10 most powerful citations, you're going to be doing better than many others who have 50-100. There's more important factors to focus on.

    • For local, I find that citations and profiles on Yelp, GMB, etc are one of the main traffic factors/funnels right now. For broader SEO, I'm not sure though.
  • what is gmb?

    • Google My Business (formerly Google Places)

It's your business' Google Plus page.
  • I personally believe in man power, but if you are going to use a service like this Localeze is probably one of the best because it feeds the data instead of creating it! But absolutely do not use two at the same time! Because Yahoo Local Works uses Yext which creates data so if you fed MOZ it feeds the data then if Yahoo Local kicked in it would create new data which would create multiple listings.

    • Ideally, yea. Hey though, side note...GMB.

Although Google My Business gets a bad wrap, do you agree that Google uses pages people followed to help personalize their search results for any given category?
